A classic eau de cologne, as Anna Zworykina defines this scent, is both hard to screw up and hard to make distinctive. With 150 Days to Summer, Zworykina clears the first hurdle easily, and I dare say she just manages to clear the second, as well. Even if not, this is so delicious that it doesn't really matter. The grapefruit sweetens and sharpens the bergamot, the herbs and spices from the kitchen cabinet add considerable flavor, and the black currant both rounds it all out and adds an animalic tinge to the otherwise restrained tonka in the base. Add a smidge of rose—more as olfactory glue than a distinct note—et voilà! The result is vibrant.
150 Days to Summer is basically a super spicy, aromatic and fizzy/gingery accord of grapefruit, hesperides, rose and blackcurrant, finally soothed by tonka and hints of balsams. Rose emerges gradually languid, soapy, barbeshop and citric. Simple in structure this accord is untamed, bitter and kind of agrestic. This smell is like a wild horse hard to tame, a raw unperfect crude natural accord. There is a kind of mentholated vibe throughout (aromatic herbs are actually a significant feature), even cinnamonic, herbal, gingery, vaguely "laundry/neutral" and lemony/orangy. A sparkling juice evoking a sunny day in the middle of the nature.
