Jaclyn Smith is probably best known for her role as Kelly Garrett in the iconic television series “Charlie’s Angels,” which aired from 1976 to 1981. Cashing in on this success was Max Factor, who made her the face of Epris in 1984, along with the tag-line, “Part of the art of being a woman is knowing when not to be too much of a lady.”

Five years later, and Max Factor launches California – where not only is Smith the face of the fragrance, she’s also the brand. A year later, and the launch is followed up with California for Men.

In 1991, Max Factor was acquired by Procter & Gamble, which pretty much ended Max Factor’s perfume business. Many of its perfume brands such as Blasé, Le Jardin and, of course, California were sold off to Dana.

Fast-forward to 2024, and Jaclyn Smith is back! Not with California (sadly), but new fragrance, Jackie, with notes of bergamot, aldehyde, amber, earthy musk, sandalwood and heliotrope.
