It's surprising this Dunhill gourmand-ish offering is not more popular. 51.3N (the partial coordinates of London on a map) starts off with a bright green rhubarb floating on a creamy base of sandalwood and vanilla, followed by a silky smooth sotto voce grapefruit accord far more refined than the same high intensity grapefruit note in a certain ubiquitous, instantly-recognizable bro frag (that gives me an instant splitting headache whenever I wander into its cloud. )

The down side? So-so sillage and lasts about six hours on my skin but for the price (currently) it's really a no brainer; just respray and you're good to go for another two or three hours.

Inoffensive, subdued, 51.3N is is a good candidate for day or night, summer or winter, work or play. The bottle is one of the best Dunhill have produced. Solid heavy glass and a machined metal cap.

And did I mention the current price?

Got mine from Notino. The scent is good while it lasts, so that's the positive side. The big downside is that I sprayed two to the chest and two to my shirt. Less than two hours and it's completely gone...

I really wasn't expecting much from this considering the extremely low cost that I obtained from a discounter; however I'm pleasantly surprised by the overall experience!

Grapefruit, black pepper and sandalwood are the most detectable notes to my nose, over a light bed of spicy lavender and a touch of vanilla. I can't say I detect rhubarb since I'm unfamiliar with that particular note. It's fresh and green whatever it is, and I mean that in a positive way.

The quality of Dunhill 51.3N is actually really good and the projection and longevity are excellent! I'm reminded of both Floris Santal and Coriolan Guerlain to a certain extent, as this too would make for an amazing business scent.

The glass bottle is also a keeper; which touts quite a heft and a machine drilled magnetic cap! Nice job, Dunhill!

Meh! The opening of Dunhill 51.3 N is a conglomerate of cliches from the late 80s masculine perfumery. A mishmash of leftovers from the fougere era, some of the pre-90s woody citruses and something else sweet. It considerably improves during the middle-phase and the drydown where it gets closer to certain classic vanilla-driven Guerlain masculines…only tremendously cheaper both in texture and quality. Ok, it's not as bad as I make it sound but it's still far from being remarkable.

Rhubarb in the 51.3 N is ok, although it could be better, sourer and have a bit more punch in it. Main thing is that it's not horribly artificial. I get the peppery and citrusy notes and I like them but, in the end, the sweet woody base makes it very boring. 51.3 N is not a bad fragrance but it certainly is completely unoffensive and, under all the pepper and rhubarb, a quite unimaginative. Maybe I'm just not a sweet woody type of guy, I don't know. It's a shame, really, because I really wanted to like this because of the rhubarb.

I like this.
Initial blast is pencil shavings and milk chocolate.
This could easily fit into one of Thierry Mugler's creations. It is somewhere between the 'Pure' series and Ice Men. So gourmand is right...kinda caramel like with a hint of something medicinal. Drydown shows quite a bit of vanilla.
Longevity is about 5 hours for me, which is not good enough. But it resprays well.
