This is my third and final review of the 1892 series. I decided to stop at 3/4 due to the fact that what few reviews exist online for Red have unfailingly been negative.

Previously I've reviewed Green and Yellow, and had been open to the possibility of purchasing Red if the series proved to be as enjoyable as Green (which was a surprisingly pleasant cologne that I've grown to consider equal with many renowned designer fragrances).

My second foray into the series, Yellow, wasn't as well designed (though I was able to get more notes out of it with 4-6 sprays) and made me question purchasing Cobalt, but I went ahead with it anyway due to both curiosity as well as the desire to be the only reviewer of the 1892 series on Basenotes.

Cobalt is a dark cologne that is even more reminiscent of Abercrombie's Fierce than Yellow. It opens HARSH with a strong alcohol scent that quickly becomes the familiar citrus, moss, musk that we all know.

The drydown is a very unremarkable, weak cedar.

With 4 sprays on the wrist, violet emerged for a little while, but 99% of people will think you're wearing Fierce.

Weakest of the 3, but I'll give it a Neutral because even though it lacks originality, it still smells okay.

Update: I sold Cobalt and Yellow after finding them eye-watering, not good quality fragrances.

It's a shame that the 1892 series didn't offer anything that was really different to the Abercrombie line, aside from Green. I think that if the designers chose to take Yellow into a spicier direction and dispense with the musk, as well as turn Cobalt into a salty aquatic, that they could have been much more enjoyable summer colognes.
