So it's unvarnished blended ouds. It DOES at times smell like varnished wood though. But it's surprising multidimensional if you take the time to analyze. At a "glance" though it's a dry, cedary wood smell. You either like it or you don't. I like it but the price is a bit much...though that's pretty much true of any real ouds.
A closer examination reveals facets of berries, leather, herbs, barnyard, vanilla, dried fruits and, of course, woods. But as this is a blended oud, like blended whiskey, you do get all sorts of glimpses of what is possible from ouds of different regions. And that is cool.

Man, Agar Aura has been absolutely nailing it lately! Found this house by accident and now I'm obsessed. Blu was my favorite until I received my bottle of Agar Attar. This one is really special! Sorry I can't give a proper review as I am no professional but if you at all like oud I'm betting you'll fall head over heels for this beauty!!

This one came across a bit too sweet and powdery for my tastes. There's a definitive fruit note, akin to raspberry, and a leathery oud backbone. The oud is an amalgamation of various regions, which combine into a distinct lack of character. It lends a nod toward mainstream niche perfumery, but still stays grounded in the artisanal world. It's a 'like' but not a 'love' for me.
