Like most of the AquaFlor line, this was made by Sileno Cheloni for AquaFlor before he started his own boutique. This shares some DNA with another of his creations got AquaFlor, Bakhur, though Ambra is the more robust and rounded experience.
A subtle dose of metallic cinnamon and sharp citrus give the opening of Ambra a slight sharpness, with the cinnamon carrying through as the focus shifts to a creamy, cool rose, which is obscured by the smoke of incense and cistus.
A somewhat austere, resinous amber accord sits in the base, with pronounced ambergris-style saltiness and bitter patchouli ensuring any sweetness stays in the background. That saltiness becomes more and more prominent as the drydown takes center stage.
