ANTONIS (Bourbon French)

According to BF's web site, Antonis contains only one ingredient, teak wood, a scent oil I am not familiar with. It opens very, very green, raw, and strong. I am reminded of turpentine in its strength and scent. There is a whiff of something like cedar in the background.

As it calms down, the greenness recedes and the cedarlike wood scent comes forward to balance it. A certain sweetness emerges with the wood note to counteract the rawness of the green element. This is very masculine and straight-forward.

To my personal taste, I wish the green rawness had been tempered down and the wood rounded out. My husband, however, loved it as is. He found it deep, sweet and dark, patchouli-like, but lighter (with pepper). Strong woods, leather, a touch of incense or oud. Dark and mysterious, strong. Big sillage and projection. Rich, warm, comforting, cozy, and gentle. A big thumbs up.

For those into pure oil and alcohol combinations of wood extracts, this may prove interesting.
I would have given it a neutral, but my spouse's strong positive reaction convinces me to in all fairness give it a thumbs up. Different tastes.
