Latest Reviews of Attache-Moi
I bought a sample of this because I like Christine Nagel - with Jo Malone and then Hermes, she's really good at making perfumes that are focused on one or two notes, but still feel smart and carefully crafted instead of just simple. But it turns out that Attache-Moi is the polar opposite of that.
It kind of smells like every "masculine" note all in one, reminding me of the smell of a watch strap that's soaked up months' worth of different daily scents (which I guess may be Attache's surprisingly literal interpretation of a "bracelet" perfume). As such, it's really hard to describe.
It's definitely got burnt caramel patchouli, but it's not a gourmand. It's definitely got salty metallic lavender, but it's not a marine fougere. It's got a round fruity, flowery moss smell, but it's not a chypre.
Instead, I think it's best described as a really good-smelling masculine sludge, though that sounds like more of an insult than I intend it to. My only real complaint is that it has that lavender molecule that knocks out my nose, making it hard to smell what's really going on, which is a personal pet peeve. But I do think this smells really good, so I'm definitely voting thumbs up.
