Aveda Pure-Fume Tonic for Men fragrance notes

This one is far more spicy and warm than the "Pure-formance" Aveda men's fragrance from 2008. It's one of my favorites, in perennial high rotation for chilly weather. The "Pure-formance" version is heavy on menthol notes. The 1999 version has little-to-no menthol. It's all about warm, spicy effects. I get lots of compliments when I wear it. Well-priced for the quality.
My original review for this was a negative review with an accidental thumbs up, haha.
Anyway, this is not a scent for everyone, but all I can say is that it is very natural smelling and refreshing, a nice escape from the synthetic-smelling scents of today. If you have ever smelled or used the Aveda Men products, then this is basically that scent, bottled. If you haven't, well, let's say you've walked into an Aveda salon before or smelled their products or used them, then you'll have a basic idea of this scent, but it's nice. This fragrance is made with more natural oils, or concentrated with more of them, so it lasts a long time on my skin. One of my favorite fragrances, actually - this one really grew on me.

This is the smell of an Aveda salon in a bottle! Fresh and clean with hints of citrus and lavender. I love it!! I've received many compliments on this fragrance.
I'm someone who really feels most at home with cool weather fragrances; deep resonant fragrances, unmistakably masculine, with complex notes and a strong personality. I usually find the fresh, aquatic, light fragrances of summer to be somewhat dull. As far as I'm concerned, if fragrances were music, the fresh/aquatic fragrances of summer would be soft rock or easy listening and in some cases elevator music. Acceptable as background music but nothing which inspires passion. That being said, summer scents have their place and very definite uses. Of the summer scents I've tried, this is one of the better ones. So I guess I'm giving this fragrance something of a back handed thumbs up.
Lavender, bergamot, lemon rind. As Parisa says, simple. To be worn on a morning when you wore Habit Rouge the day before, and you went around trying to figure out where the pirate was hiding. Walk outside and have a conversation with your garden--today no swinging aboard with your hair on fire, no cutlass clenched in teeth. Ah.
My husband lives in this bottle...I could not be persuaded to love it though-too simple.
