The exceptional Aventus was inspired by the dramatic life of a historic emperor, celebrating strength, power and success. Introduced in 2010 and crafted by the deft hand of Sixth Generation Master Perfumer Olivier Creed in collaboration with his son Erwin, this scent has grown to become the best-selling fragrance in the history of the brand. Olivier created its iconic name derived from a ("from") ventus ("the wind"), illustrating the Aventus man as destined to live a driven life, ever galloping with the wind at his back toward success. Aventus is a sophisticated blend for individuals who savor a life well-lived.

IDK why this stuff is so expensive, especially since I can name at least 2 other houses that launched a similar, a very similar fragrance for one tenth the Creed price. Although I do like scents from Creed and I do own a few different scents, the fact that Aventus (2010) costs anywhere between $300-$400 a bottle makes me feel like a sucker.

All that said the fragrance itself does smell wonderful and it's definitely a high quality unusual scent, but for hundreds of dollars I'd like my juice to last more than 6 hrs. However I like it overall and I don't wear it very often I must also mention that this fragrance easily is one of the most overrated juices I've ever experienced.

Thank God for those other houses that'll remain nameless

I just bought the fragrance and don't get me wrong, the smell is so good that it's addicting, too bad that i spent 300+ € in a fragrance that lasts max 3 hours on my skin e stops projecting like after 30 minutes, i hope that all the rumors about the maceration of the fragrance are true because i'm hoping to be able to wear this fragrance comfortbly, by batch is F000388 metal cap

I'm surprised I've not got around to reviewing this one. This is based off of my bottle from during the early years of its release. In the opening, I got a fruity note something along the lines of a pineapple and bergamot. That effect dissipates soon after before a smoky feel of birch comes in the heart of the scent. There's some florals and patchouli in it but it's quite minimal. The base dries down to ambergris and musk. The scent performs fine, I could smell it the entire day, 6-8 hours is what I got from it.

I've got nothing positive to say about this one, I'm trying to keep my dislike thoughts of it to a minimal. It has been the frequent discussion of batch variations between what is more fruity or smoky. For me, I don't enjoy the scent at all to care whether a fruiter batch smells better than a smokier batch or vice versa. While I never reach for this scent myself, others will pull it out for all occasions anytime of the year. Personally it's one of my least favorites Creeds.

Update 17 Dec 2023: I'm in India now and of course had to spray on the king of fragrances, being surrounded by the world's most beautiful women and all. I drenched myself in half a sample sprayer I got for free from creed on insta. The scent was literally completely gone by the time I got into the car to go out to lunch. Pathetic. I won't debate about batches and such but there's no point buying let alone wearing a frag no one can smell.

Update: okay so I tried this on again and a different sales person properly gave me two full sprays instead of half a spray from really far away and this fragrance is worlds better. I literally smelled this in the car and ordered CDNIM EDP. Spraying this wrong gives a terrible experience. I give this a 9/10 and sauvage like a 9.2/10.

My girlfriend's mom who comes shopping with me smelled it and remarked it was very attractive and she could easily pick out the bergamot, pineapple, and smokey wood.

Original review: This smells like someone put a whole pineapple on a charcoal grill and forgot about it for a few hours, then tried to salvage some of the inside of the incinerated and carbonized pineapple. I washed this off in the bathroom at nordstrom right after I sprayed it on.

Oh, and they even had the bottle of mont blanc explorer right next to it, which I sprayed on the other arm. They smell almost identical, but explorer was better balanced between the pineapple and char smell. To me, you'd need to be insane to buy CDNIM EDP to want to smell like charred pineapple for 10+ hours or however long it lasts.

1/10, the worst fragrance I have experienced so far alongside The One (ashtray) EDT.

Good day base notes people!

This is my first blind buy of creed Aventus.
First impression: Fruity, spicy, and zesty
Season: warm weather
Longevity: unknown
Unique: no. A lot of perfumers have copiesld this one

So first and foremost, let me say this: I am a perfume snob. If I'm paying $$$ for it, I want sillage, longevity, and uniqueness. Because this has been duplicated so often, not unique. For me, I have to spray a lot to get sillage but this is quick dry down skin scent for me.

If you like this but want something a bit more potent choose Kilian Vodka on the Rocks.
If you just want to turn up the juice on this one and save some $$$ Dua Solo makes a scent called Poisedon Elixir 11z. It's amazing, it's Aventus amped up and reminiscent of Aventua original formula.

Overall Aventus is a classic. The other perfumers out there with this similar smell and longevity make the price not worth it.
Anyone that swears by this scent , let's debate it

Caramelised pineapple dusted with vanilla and spice, on top of soft smoke and resin with the right amount of masculine warmth.

Beautiful.

Longevity is very good, and I wish projection was better.

The price is ridiculous, but the composition is inspired.
