Latest Reviews of Black Iris
Alkemia's orris is not intense, not carroty or vegetal. It's also not straightforwardly cosmetic, or powdery. It is dove-grey, high-end perfumed dusting powder in a silver box. I love every scent they use it in, but this has been my favorite of late, because its other primary accord--the hyperreal storm cloud fantasy--is so fascinating. It lingers so long, and persists in making you feel as if you're floating through vapor. It's hard to describe accurately, and I've definitely not encountered anything like it before. It veers near the fresh laundry zone, but on me never goes there. Beware if your skin doesn't play well with soap or ozone.
This layers with other scents extremely well, and seems to act as a fixative to a certain extent.
