Latest Reviews of Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum
Not great. In fact the frankincense gives the whole an "off"-vibe to me. You know like some people find cumin to be kinda BO-like.
But in this case the whole concoction reminds me too much of the smell of some type of blue/aquatic toilet cakes.
Is it just the incense or do Chanel sneak some civet into this as well maybe? That might be my mind playing tricks on me though.
There's like a hundred much better blue scents out there: AdG Profondo, Ralph Lauren Polo Blue, Invictus/Hawas, ...

I am a niche fragrance lover. I have over 300 bottle of fragrances. This one was about to be givwnen away because I couldn't remember why I owned it what it smelled like. I sprayed it to be sure I wanted to part with it and I could not.
This is a super fresh, spicy, citrus blast that lasts. No, it is not unique. I've smelled similar but the similarities are only with regard to some of the ingredients. For me, this lasts and it's timeless. I won't be able to part with it after all.
Sillage 8/10
Longevity 9/10
Price 8/10 - u can buy online & at discounters
Great scent

Would I buy again? Yes
I would love to know if anyone has any better frags that are similar to this one and why.

Fresh, citrusy, sophisticated but definitely not unique. I bought it last month after smelling it on a paper strip at the airport. I'm wearing this almost every other day since trying to figure out what I'm missing- this perfume has been successful for the house of Chanel so I'm trying hard to get the missing link! I have the EDP version and after the fresh summer vibe it just stays like that without a proper drydown before it fades away in a couple of hours.
First fragrance I’ve smelt that’s made me gag, not a fan of this despite give a fair chance just something about it makes me feel nauseous
Being relatively new to the fragrance game, I wanted my first sniff of a blue fragrance to be something quality, so I've started with Bleu de Chanel eu de parfum, and ... wow.
So fresh and clean, no bitterness, with a long-lasting drydown that incorporates traditionally 'masculine' notes like vetiver and pink pepper, and ultimately settles into a rich warm place with ginger, cedar, sandalwood, and amber. Quite the journey, and one I could appreciate throughout the entirety of a day. This stuff lasts, and this stuff projects.
I've been much more on the niche side lately, but Bleu de Chanel might be the one to drag me over to the designer side of things. In contrast to so many reviews here, I do find this fragrance exciting and beyond 'average'. It is in fact considered a designer masterpiece (which is why I thought I'd start my exploration of blue fragrances with it) - and it absolutely did not disappoint.

Blue: perfected. Folks are quick to dismiss Bleu de Chanel as the product of an ill-advised focus group in a shopping mall somewhere. They're missing the point entirely. The beauty is that Polge has created a fragrance so utterly well-blended that there's nary a fault to be found. Original? Nah. But neither were The Rolling Stones.
Bleu EDP opens with a crisp citrus blast that is somewhat darker than the EDT. Its lifespan encompasses three fairly distinct phases for me: the bright aldehyde/citrus opening, a heart of jasmine and ginger, and a dry down that teases a salty, metallic marine accord atop an intentionally understated sandalwood, with moments of citrus returning for an encore. The longevity and sillage are average. It'd be easy to complain about both because Bleu can be quick to cause olfactory fatigue. That's okay. It's probably a Chanel thing.
Bleu de Chanel EDP doesn't reinvent the wheel. It perfects it. It's everything Dylan Blue, Polo Sport, Polo Blue, Sauvage, and Armani Profumo can't be: nearly perfect and intentional. Big thumbs up.
