Gauzy tuberose, not a barnstormer, but ever so skillfully rendered in the opening hours, with the florals smelling fresh, nectarous and dew-laden, a little twist of orange peel in the start, hints of crushed twigs, and waxy and creamy coconut undertones. Yes, it has the headiness and carnality of tuberose, but somehow turned towards reflection and calm – a kind of soft-focus, sunset tuberose, if you will. I would have been entirely in favour of such a thing had it not been for the big surge of coconut cream in the drydown which toppled the balance.

Blu is a carnal tuberose with the ylang-ylang spicy/exotic support and several light woody and musky accents. Probably the most intense tuberose (tuberose/orange blossoms/ylang-ylang accord) I've ever tested side by side with Carnal Flower. I've sampled pure essence and extrait in their dark blu-green colours, dense and profound like the deepest blue sea. I don't know for which sort of phenomenon the Blu's aroma manages to evoke the blue sea depth and why the intense floral/musky aroma seems to conjure on my memory several ancestral remembrances of far mediterranean childish summers. The final part of the dry down is lighter, more subtle and airy. Anyway, if you like the tuberose this is the Queen, so indolic and almost askew, so musky/blu, so sparkling in the air. A wonderful complex minimalist floral accord placing the absolute floral pureness in the middle of the ring. Another Acampora surprise.

A soft, fresh, flowery tuberose, with a little powder, & a touch of musk. ln the heart is a deliciously creamy gardenia note, & the whole effect is very pretty, gentle & dreamlike. lf you're looking for a monster tuberose, this isn't it, but if you want a softer rendition, you could do a lot worse.

My sample was of the oil, but l would love to try that spray version pictured above, if anyone knows where l can get it? Luckyscent still carry only the oil, & as it's blue in colour, l was quite wary of getting it on my clothes!
