Latest Reviews of Blu Mediterraneo : Ginepro di Sardegna
I'm giving this a neutral just because it isn't worth unicorn pricing, but it is pleasant. This is essentially Acqua di Parma's take on the "dad cologne" genre (a kind of Mediterranean-flavored Varvatos Vintage, if you will).
I consider this a hidden gem. Very "mass pleasing", and I think that's why it's got some mediocre reviews from the frag snobbies. Peering deeper beyond it's nose-pleasing construction, it's much more. I thoroughly enjoy wearing this and it invokes a positive mood. I prefer this in colder weather, but it's oddly marketed and placed in a Summer lineup. That is clearly why it didn't sell well. This is a beautiful merge of a gin fragrance and an oriental spicy fragrance. I don't think it's breaking any new ground, but it's exceedingly pleasant.
I don't think this fragrance got the proper marketing and placement it deserved. It frankly doesn't even seem like it should be an Acqua di Parma fragrance. This smells more like something that would be bottled by Tom Ford or YSL's Le Vestiaire Des Parfums line or the Dior Privee line. It's a very well constructed classic Spicy Oriental fragrance. And it deserved better than it got as a release.
This is most sadly discontinued. If you have the means to buy this in the gray market I recommend it. It's a beautiful perfume. 5-stars for me

Juniper sweet with a minimum booziness only, starts from the beginning, but soon it is associated with a peppery sidekick that adds a spicy component. Initially there is a glimpse of bergamot too.
The drydown adds a woodsy component, that is mainly a cedarwood on me; I get only a touch of cypress with brief herbal moments - sage and whiffs of basil. The juniper/pepper/wood mix sees it out until the end.
I get moderate sillage, good projection and seven hours of longevity on my skin.
This pleasant scent for warm autumn days is not bad, although the juniper impression is a tad on the dull side - this is not Creed's Baie de Genievre. Additionally, the notes are too generic and too synthetic to entice, and there is limited development only. Overall 2.5/5.

A non event which could have been so much more.
I get sweet juniper berry and Cypress mainly but its weak and does not last long at all. Perhaps the weakness is why people call it generic.
This could have been good. I understand why people 'want to like it'
but its a shadow of what it should be.
Fragrance: 6/10 --would have been at least 7.5 if it was stronger
Projection: 6/10
Longevity: 5/10

Perhaps Acqua di Parma's most boring fragrance. I only bought it because it smells absolutely fantastic when combined with the original Colonia. Two sprays of Colonia and one spray of this on each arm is the only way to improve Colonia.
Now, for my thoughts on Ginepro di Sardegna. By itself, I don't like it. It's really boring and not worth $100. There is a 'fizz' note I enjoy at the beginning, but that's about it. It dries down to slightly woody green scent. Longevity is about 7 hours max.
