Very well blended, so well that my novice nose can't pick out specific notes.

High quality ingredients were used, that jumps out at me.

On the sweeter end of the spectrum, but not the edible type.

Take out the pepper from Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme, as
well as the floral heart, and add an almost faintly aquatic? sweetness, and that would be kinda close?

Very hard to pinpoint this one, but a fine specimen to round out a diversified scent rack.

Lovely stuff, this. Most prevalent among the perceived notes (for me) are the cinnamon, moss, fir, and tobacco, with a honeyed sweetness. I have heard the original Bogner compared to Monsieur Carven, and for good reason, and to a lesser extent JHL, though the top notes in the Bogner offering are far less pronounced, more for 'color' than much else. I think vintage Tabac wouldn't be far off, though this is greener and doesn't have Tabac's wonderful aldehyde opening. What it actually more closely brings to mind (if you can imagine this) is Royal Copenhagen with all the herbs and orris removed and fir added in their place. It is en excellent sweet tobacco scent with a floral heart. I haven't even used up my mini yet and I already miss it.

This is a high quality but obscure fragrance that is generally difficult to find but well worth hunting down. I’ve had three bottles over the last 15 years (one of the original formula in the grey bottle and two of the later formula in the blue bottle) and didn’t notice any significant change in its smell or strength. I haven’t smelt the current (3rd) formula yet so can’t comment on it. Nonetheless, the first two formulas are utterly masculine and smell totally unique, and combined with their rarity make for an excellent signature fragrance. Warm, flowery, zesty and assertive, they remind me a little of Grey Flannel. The industrial strength and sillage of the first two formulas are unimpeachable. I used to wear it as an office fragrance but I believe it’s versatile enough to use on any occasion. Highly underated (probably because of its scarcity), Bogner Man is one of those well blended and complex teutonic fragrances that include Joop Jump, Joop Homme, Jil Sander Feeling Man, and Etienne Aigner Private Number for Men. Highly recommended.
