Thicker, warmer, more rounded and animalic unlike the original. Definitely not for everyone, but then again - it's a must try at least.

I couldn't write this review without side testing it with the original. That way gave me the real picture when it comes to differences between them. Contrast is very noticable. Parfum flanker is very thick, like tar, sticky and seductive while the original is more formal and "strict".

I've noticed couple of "urban myths" about this fragrance. The first one would be that the longevity is poor. Second one is that it reminds of V&R Spicebomb and/or YSL La Nuit de L'Homme (maybe because of cardamom). Third would be that if you have the original, Parfum is redundant. All those impressions are subjective and I respect that some people might see it this way, but none of this resonates with me at all.

Bottega Veneta pour Homme Parfum lasts for quite a time, however it is not a projection beast one would expect concerning this scent profile. On the other hand, very far from it that this is a skin scent that doesn't "move" outside of it. A true shame that this is discontinued.

When smelled directly from the skin, it smells rich, opulent, luxurious, thick, warm, sticky, a bit dark, mildly sweet. Like a warm, luxurious, expensive scented candle in a subtle role of an aphrodisiac.

Originality: 7/10
Scent: 9/10
Longevity: 8/10
Projection: 6,5/10

Same spicy, green opening as the EdT and Extreme versions but with maybe a hint of cloves. Has a similar feel to Bel Ami, but with a modern (tonka)-retro (leather) twist going at the same time. It's also the warmest of the three variants I've tried (EdT, Extreme and Parfum) and best suited for colder weather.

Projection is good for maybe 4-5 hours and longevity is in the 8-hour range.

A spicier (almost a la V&R SpiceBomb) version of the original Bottega Veneta Pour Homme edt. I find this parfum more focused on tonka, leather and piquant/dusty spices (nutmeg, cardamom, probably black pepper), woodsy resinous elements are subdued, synth cedary woodiness is more moderate (or better rendered) while smoky leather is quite enhanced. A virile concoction, charismatic and mysterious. The creation opens with highly concentrated woody and spicy notes of cedar leaves and rich cardamom (this initial spicy-aromatic stage is lot kind of "Gucci Guiltesque-like" in a more peppery way), enhanced and strengthened at the heart by red and black pepper plus fir balsam. The combination of prickly sweet spices, tonka, dry woods and leather conjures me barely (the fruity, almondy and affected) Armani Code Profumo but BV PH Parfum is finally a more assertive, woodsy and mysterious creation which I prefer. A step beyond the other version in projection (just a tad more than moderate in any case) and longevity (more than decent). A bolder formula which I frankly prefer on the original somewhat fluidy/plastic (at least on my skin) edt appointment.

Listed under Bottega Profumiera versus Bottega Veneta, I wonder if there has been a change at the helm at Veneta.

This is the one I prefer of the 3 (EdT, Extreme being the other 2). If you consider a proper Italian fragrance to be bolder and brighter than the average, you will like this flanker better too. I like the apparent simplicity though not a linear jus. You get that fat dose of fir balsam chilling on raw hide leather mellowed out ever so slightly by tonka. Just nice.

A simplified version of the EDT, basically cardamom, leather and a hint of tonka, smells great but lacks the perfumista nuances of the especially good EDT.

This is called a "parfum" but it's and eau de parfum. Better than the EDT, it's spicy leather scent. The leather/tonka is the best part of this scent. It wears well and long, but it's not a sillage monster. I also like the women's version with its plum/violet with leather.

Not a good blind buy as it's a hit-or-miss scent.

Trying this is a must.
