Colonia Ebano
Acqua di Parma (2017)

Ebano is all man. Starts off spicy, reminded me of Polo Green at first and then original Calvin, but with more cumin. The dirtiness of the cumin pushes this into Cartier Declaration territory but only up close on skin. In the air, it has a heavy, refined, extremely masculine greeness that keeps me going back to Polo green as my reference.

This is not casual fragrance to me. Smells like you're ready to get some business done.

Performance is very good for me, lasting all day with good projection.

For a while it smells as a sort of new Terre d'Hermes-close relative (hesperides, vetiver, patchouli, petitgrain, pepper), just a sort of new "flat" version, less floral, more one-dimensional; finally liquid vetiver recedes and Colonia Ebano turns out like a mediocre woody-honeyed synth dark scent (kind of cedary, flat, vaguely suedish and somewhat gassy). Ebony is dominant, dark and quite straighforward, I don't catch a lot of further presences along the monothematic dry down. Really un-worthy the price. 5/5.

Resin and pepper.

I really like it, but I'm only using a small dab of it from a vial. I imagine a spray from a full bottle would be too overpowering.

It reminds me of L'air du Desert Marocain without the sweet notes.

I love love this. Perhaps the deepest darkest aromatic barbershop available today.

Imagine Azzaro Pour Homme but super super dark, like a flanker names Nero Intensa, this would be it!

The contrasting bergamot and petitgrain alongside ebony is a combo that is just lovely.

Easy to dismiss this if you are not patient with it. Give it time, let it develop and envelope.

This along with several others from AdP (oud, ambra, leather...) are worth a full wearing and are full bottle worthy.

Bergamot - check.
Elemi (green incense) - check.
Pepper - check.
Could be worse, but not my style.
Honey is a bit strong and sweet. Seems somewhat loud and brash. For an exclusive AdP I would expect something classier.
The dry-down is very in your face and would be unpleasant for more than 5 minutes.
