Cordovan has a slightly dusty, more mature feel. Not sweet or modern. Feels more like a late 90s or early 2000s scent. Linear but the smell is interesting, could be the fig note. Ultimately, it does smell like a cheaper scent in the drydown but at least it's not boring and has decent performance.

I get slightly better than average projection and about 6-7 hours on clothes.

Sweet, but not too sweet. It’s definitely one I wear on dates. I get frequent compliments.

Perhaps the most lightly regarded scent in my wardrobe. In fact, I often dismiss it with a smidge of disdain and occasionally have the urge to give it away.

Which makes no sense at all, because Cordovan is a very nice and agreeable fragrance. Maybe too much so? My first thought - when I do happen to think of Cordovan - is that it's beige and bland and boring. But that's really unfair. It's well blended with a nice mellow fig and smooth suede that holds things together nicely. The nutmeg adds some personality (I'm thinking “what little personality it has”, but darn it that's unfair!). It really is a well crafted, mellow and discrete juice. For a leather style perfume, Cordovan is like the polar opposite of CH's Bad Boy.

Its 100% fall weather for me, and maybe cooler spring days. I don't think it could stand up to the cold and I wouldn't even consider it in heat. Very light projection and not too much duration either. But for $20, not a problem.

It's perfect for bedtime, which is when I've worn it most. It's warm, quiet and calming. Totally inoffensive and shouldn't bother your bedmate in the least. Lovely, really. In that way.

This actually would be a decent office scent for the dignified gent (over 35) that wants to smell classy, smart, and even a little sneaky sexy, without drawing any attention to themselves. You know the dude. Mature, good looking, well dressed - swank college prof type - looks intellectual but also like he does triathlons, clean cut, silver fox (premature), wears glasses with clear, hip frames that look great on him.

Cordovan is also good for a romantic, late afternoon October walk in Central Park to enjoy the foliage.

Hmm. I guess I like it?

Despite having a somewhat unique note set, this is a very average fragrance. I find myself often saying "it's so simple, yet so unique" -- kind of the case with this one too.

The strong metallic vibe is the star here. As bad as it may sound, it just works. It kind of has a Creed Himalaya thing going on for the first 20 minutes or so. As Bigsly points out, it's very well blended, and hard to detect notes.. but one note that is prominent is the fig. It takes a few minutes to come out, but once it does, you can't miss it. It's a darkish, dried fig kind of note. Has that raisin kind of smell. I would put nutmeg as the second most prominent note.

The dry down is boring, flat, indistinguishable. The scent doesn't really go anywhere after the nutmeg emerges. It fades out as a fig/nutmeg, metallic fragrance, over a lavender base.

It took me a while to finally pull the notes apart here, again very well blended, very well balanced too. It's weird because I don't really care for the fragrance, but sometimes I just get an urge to wear it.

Clean, fresh, woody.
Absolutely nothing offensive here, and it garners compliments.
It is a keeper and my simple wintertime signature scent. It could be considered generic but there's that 10% of it that you haven't smelled before. It's versatile enough to wear out in slacks and leather jacket or just a day at home.
