I’m giving Dior Homme Sport 2022 a full wearing today. It smells like a serious fragrance and not necessarily sporty. It has a haunting quality that draws me in.

It’s like a frankincense perfume. Not at all sporty. A little bit good, but probably not good enough to revisit. But then Dior has a way of coming back, so I might own a bottle in a few years.

Full disclosure, I only tried this because it was $70 for the 125mL bottle on Amazon. I figured it would be a lame citrus bomb that was gone in an hour and I am so excited to say that was completely wrong. I was on the lookout for a DH2020 deal but kept going back and forth because of the smell in the far drydown, and Joe T put it perfectly "Woman love [DH2020]. I'm guessing its the light smell of rose mixed with the cedarwood. The only knock on it is when you wake up the next day you smell like old lady perfume but never during the day while wearing it. Kinda weird but worth the compliments lol".

There are too many fresh fragrances out there and in my opinion most of them are done very poorly, either way too musky, too hotel-soapy, too sickly-sweet, or they barely last an hour (Hawas...). This fragrance is basically Dior Homme 2020 but even more mass appealing. It's one of the few fragrances I spray not just for myself - anyone who knocks this must've had a knock to the head to not love it.

This gets a solid "meh" from me. Initial application of 8 sprays and my wife couldn't tell that I was wearing anything 15 minutes later. Another 6 sprays 30 minutes later helped somewhat, but projection is elbow-distance at best. The citrus (lemon and bergamot) are of the sweet candy type, not bright at all, and quite muted and muddled. The aldehydes and perhaps some undisclosed ingredients produce a vaguely blue/violet leaf element. This also contains linalool, giving this a mild bit of lavender aromatic tone, and there is an impression of something generically and lightly floral. Those who detect "woody" or "incense" notes have a better sense of smell than I do, though there is a smooth undertone evocative of woods. In other words, the whole thing is ambiguous, with nothing standing out. And no, that isn't the result of fantastic blending - it seems more like the perfumer didn't really know what he wanted to do. If I had to define this in a single word, it would be "inoffensive." If asked to list its positive attributes, I would say that this is extremely office safe, and that it is the kind of scent that you would wear that would make you smell pleasant to people around you without them necessarily knowing that you are wearing anything. If that appeals, give this a shot. But there are dozens of fragrances available that cover the same ground for a third of the price with better performance. Gets a solid neutral.

Like all in the reimagined Dior Homme line, this is terrible. Harsh, screechy, synthetic, poorly blended. Sharp aldehydes and citrus over synthetic headache-inducing generic "woody notes". Individuals wearing this seem to need to bash people over the head with their put-upon "masculinity". Dior Homme Sport beats you over the head with a baseball bat, shrieking "I'M A MAN I'M A MAN I'M A MAN!"
Utterly uninspired.

Dior Homme 2020 with a refined, soapy lemon. I was thinking this Sport version might lighten up and back off of the Dior Homme 2020 profile of powerful, dry muskiness, but it does not. It very much makes me think it’s simply Dior Homme 2020 with extra lemon-citrus added.

If you want an extra lemony-fresh version of Dior Homme 2020, then this should fit the bill. However, having both seems redundant to me.

Quite strong in projection and never seems to make me nose-blind to it. Very persistent. This radiated off my skin for many hours to the point of being cloying. Apply lightly or you better really like the way this smells.
