I nearly dismissed Dolce Riso as a nice but unremarkable musky lime. You know the drill, a decent citrus note gathered up in prolonging laundry musks – whoops there's another perfume ready for launch.
But due to that clean and soft start, I was unprepared for developments. Well, first there was a bit of an herbal flutter (I wouldn't quite call it artemisia as listed in the notes, but rather something green and flavoursome) which was joined by some dusky notes (probably the cereals suggested) which gave the entire thing a nice roundness, while maintaining its polite nature.
After that quite accomplished heart phase the drydown went all a bit wafty – vague notes in a mist of musk, the citrus had got quite depleted by now and some vanilla sugar had arrived blanding out everything else. Ah well… time to dismiss Dolce Riso after all.

Cale' Dolce Riso is a dignified lactonic sort of tonka-cereals centered aroma with a sheer kind of lemony vanillic counteracting undertone (notable immediately). Quite nice the juxtaposition between the milky rice cream-cereals-vanilla accord on one side and a musky synthetic limetta on the other one. All the aroma is centered over these two accords going on balmy and confortable (with a touch of talky powder based on tonka, white pepper and dusty woods). In the same vein as scents like Farmacia SS Annunziata Fiore di Riso and partially Jovoy Rouge Assassin Dolce Riso is a comforting aroma eliciting a sense of ethereal (celestial) cleanliness. Along the dry down the vanilla jumps on the stage and the aroma becomes far less interesting.

Calè setted a very high standard with their compositions (Mistero, Perludio D'Oriente, Fulgor) but Dolce Riso is quite a disappointment. A fruity/citrusy opening turning into a sweeter and somehow scratchy woody/ambery drydown that's not so far from a bunch of fragrances from the Baldessarini's Del Mar serie. Nothing special and it definitely doesn't worth the price tag.

Similar to Etra by Etro, but as SirSlarty said it doesn't last long. Perhaps you'll get three strong hours if you spray several times. Also, I think I like the Etra blend better anyway. There is something irritating in the top notes of this one. The not pyramid seems accurate, but I'm curious about why this doesn't last very long, considering that some vanilla-based fragrances last a very long time. The rating is not based upon price (I don't know what it retails for, actually).

Creamy and sweet. Very rich tonka and vanilla base. Dolce Riso is a wonderful if yet fleeting scent.
