Doll Face fragrance notes
- heliotrope, violet, French vanilla, white musk
Latest Reviews of Doll Face
Doll Face (EdP) is a terrific little floral/gourmand. The thrust of it is heliotrope, with it's powdery/almond/vanillic aroma. Underpinning the heliotrope is vanilla and musk. I did notice what others have described as a 'plastic' note, which presents itself not really as 'plastic' but rather as a note that is not sweet in a composition in which everything else is. I believe this may be violet, or perhaps another floral note that is very dry. The effect is to add a little twist to what would otherwise be a simple gourmand, and in conjunction with the name does in fact conjure the image of a 'doll' - plastic and cute.DF is up to the usual high Ava Luxe quality and longevity - in fact the longevity was longer than most I've tried (8-10 hours). There isn't a lot of development, it's more linear, though there is movement towards the sweet musky base. With a bottle cost under $30, you can't go wrong if you like heliotrope fragrances.
I agree with themeglet on the rubber note which reminds me new soft rubber faced dolls. But the powdery flower she called is sweet violet at opening and grows into almond blossoms (and some bitter almond maybe.) Cute but not very impressive.

Cabbage Patch Kid in a bottle. Nice. I'm rather impressed by AL's Doll Face, and would recommend it wholeheartedly. This is a soft, powdery floral that has a hint of vanilla, a touch of white musk, and a light note of plastic (or rubber?).I don't pick up on the violet note at all, though it may be part of the floral/powder combination. Overall, very nice.
