The aroma of this scorbutic fougere is soon extremely barber-shop and classically lemony (bergamot, lavender and lime plus aromatic herbs) and holds on this way for a while till when a stout leather/musk (more leather than musk) gets to add its powerfully masculine touch. The leather is still lemony and this combo appears forbidding and uncompromising, especially in such a minimalist composition so conservative, probably deprived of flowers and stuck in progression. The dry down adds a touch of cedarwood, vetiver and may be hints of oakmoss with vague (with all the differences in terms of quality of course) reminiscences about Pour Monsieur Chanel. Witness of a left back barber-shop era. Not to be dismissed for such a nostalgic i am.

Established in Parma around 1935, all the Adam products appear to have been masculine orientated and created upon a theme of heather. Any meaningful production seems to have ceased in 1985.

Adam EDB has a peppery, citrus opening that feels more gastronomic than fragrant. It is a brief phase, and it mellows considerably thereafter into a comfortable herbal experience. It is similar in style if not quality to Monsieur Worth and Dunhill Blend 30. Calming, fleeting and pleasant.
