EAU DE NOIR (Bourbon French)

Eau de Noir is a very sophisticated, warm and sensual mixing of frankincense and musks. It is the best of the seven masculine scents from Bourbon French that I have experienced to date.

It has a restrained sweet/spicy side as well, giving an overall impression of scented leather or suede with a waft of tobacco. I would suspect that bitter orange and carnation are also part of the mix. The concept of “Spanish Leather,” has come to mean a leather imbued with florals and spices and this for me perfectly describes the impression Eau de Noir gives.

Although marketed as a masculine, I believe that a mature and confidant female personality could wear this with no problem. Projection is big with excellent sillage. A scent for the evening and romance.

The blending here is masterful. This is of the quality one would suspect from Guerlain or Knize. A very big thumbs up for this superior quality BF creation.

First Edit: April 16, 2021: After repeated wearings, I detect a prominent anise note, which can either be center stage or in the background, dependig on the balance of oils in the application.
