Eternity for Men Parfum by Calvin Klein (2022) has absolutely nothing to do with the classic Eternity for Men by Calvin Klein (1989) outside a brief puff of lavender and some mint in the opening, quickly devolving into a cut-rate gourmand in similar fashion to several dozen ethyl maltol bombs currently infesting the men's designer counter spaces. Don't get cozy, I won't make this take long.

The opening is the ghost of Eternity past, then from there it's a sickly sweet faux-boozy ride into Hell's depths, with patchouli, vanilla, and cedarwood. This has all the potency of Versace Eros (2013) but none of the balance, being full of cheap candy and dusty spice that melts together into a horrifying Madame Tussaud's rendition of the 1989 fresh fougère that frankly still smells modern today.

Well that about wraps it up, another inane flanker to further destroy the integrity of the flagship men's fragrance line for the house of Calvin Klein, one that will be forgotten in less time than it took to whip up in the lab, and hit the discounters with the fury of a thousand Calvin Klein cK One (1994) seasonal editions. Go sniff for yourself if you don't believe, but don't come crying to me if you lose your lunch in the exchange. Thumbs down

My expectations were low, as I'm not a big fan of CK fragrances. I didn't detect much lavender in the top notes, but there was a sweet and spicy tinge. Then, I briefly sensed a coconut vibe, maybe from the rum, which was a pleasant surprise, but it quickly changed again. The coconut faded and the vanilla emerged. I have to admit, the first 5-8 minutes were very interesting and carried a lot of potential with the spearmint and rum notes. Unfortunately, it faded quickly, and I was left with a soft sweetness that didn't remind me of anything in particular. It wasn't boozy enough to make me think it was rum-centric.

In summary, this is just another boring release from CK. The performance is weak, and it becomes a skin scent in an hour or two. I recommend skipping it.
