Exotic Amber

It’s an absolutely amazing oil to the 10th power. One of the best in my personal opinion from Ajmal’s entire portfolio within the last 10 years and one of the best perfumes in general I’ve come across. This is the coolest smell I’ve ever experienced. Never smelled anything like it before. It’s so bizarre in the best way imaginable, and wearable too. It’s fun to wear, and cozy.

The attar’s focus is oud, amber, musk and geranium flower in that order. The oud is very dry, clean, blonde, smoky with the perfect amount of funk, rot and animalics as to intrigue, nothing barnyard, off putting nor overwhelming in the least. I’m not sure which oud Ajmal used from their collection for this because this a wearable oud, even in public places if worn very lightly. A very dry, complex and hypnotic oud that can be worn day or night as well. Deep and resinous amber tears are abundant with a silky smooth musk behind oud with dusty, pale and pink wilting geranium flowers continually weaving in and out. It’s very dusty and woody, beige and pale pink, slightly floral, masculine and really complex with a light and dark effect throughout. There’s a tightly woven spice cluster of black pepper and cinnamon far off in the background for the entire duration to create a lovely deep, aromatic nuance.

It feels like something a Pharaoh would’ve worn centuries ago if Exotic Amber existed.
It’s regal, and rich, and weird, and pleasurable but somehow fun, easy to wear, very warm, friendly and intoxicating all at the same time. It’s just so unusual and out there.

The only possible way I could ever even begin to explain how this smells as a whole would be kind of like what new clothing smells of but with deep wood, balmy amber and incense rubbed into the fibers. I cannot explain it, it’s far too awesome to describe.

Wear time is all day and all night well into the following day. One teeny drop dabbed here and there underneath clothing, or one small spritz on the core underneath two shirts is all that’s needed to scent your entire body. When worn on exposed skin, sillage trails are long, the length of hallways long.
