Golden Sand fragrance notes

Golden Sand possesses the same sort of candle-wax vanilla used in drugstore vanilla scents by Brittney Spears, Madonna, and Halle Berry, which is to say, a rather plain vanilla synth dressed up with a touch of gooey caramel and blond woods. It occupies an amorphously creamy-sweet register in an amorphously creamy-sweet structure - beige layered on beige.
There is little of interest here, but if you are a fan of something like, say, Madonna’s Truth or Dare Naked or Couvent des Minimes Cologne des Missions, both of which are composed almost entirely of vanillic basenotes like benzoin and vanillin, then Golden Sand is a low-risk blind buy.
For others, I would recommend using this oil as a layering agent to boost the longevity of ambery orientals and vanillas. As long as you don’t look in this direction for a rich, standalone vanilla-amber that could compete with your favorites, Golden Sand is a decent option.

This is my first Al rehab. I get syrupy, sweet apple juice from this and maybe a little oud. Maybe that smells like caramel to people? Too sweet for me

I get a lovely caramel-y amber spice. It dries more vanilla than Cologne of the Missions-spicy, but is very similar for a lot of it’s life. I really am liking that dry down of spiced vanilla. It is simple and it sure starts off super sweet, but luckily that fades back soon. Nice, super cheap; worth the price for sure.
I really like this but there is something in it I don't care for, that reminds me of a sort of pungent molasses. It is also strongly sweet and oudy, which is exotic. At times I have gotten a slight smokey scent. I don't get any vanilla in this as I read from another poster online. For me, the prominent note is sweet like strong caramel. Because it's a strong masculine, I always layer it with something else. The reason I purchased it is because of a review I read. A guy was on an airline flight and a male stewardess walked by him and the scent was exotic. He said it was the best scent he had ever smelled. When he left the plane he asked what it was and it was Al Rehab's Golden Sand. It is truly special but I believe this is a man's scent. If a woman purchases it, I think she'll be layering it.
An update on this. I used this with a light fragrance and I got so much oud that it was overwhelming and turned me off. I have loved this but if I purchase again it will only be for layering.

Al Rehab's Golden Sand is a beautiful gourmand fragrance. The main notes are amber, vanilla, sandalwood and oud. Golden sand can best be described as a sweet smelling campfire, or vanilla scented pipe tobacco. A Lady or a gent could pull off this one. If you are a fan of Al Rehab Dalal, then this one is right up your alley. This one does lean a tad more on the masculine side than Dalal. A word of caution however...These middle eastern attars can be easy to overapply, especially when the people around you are accustomed to western fragrances. This one is a sillage beast. Over applied, the roll on version of this can be powerful. It is an excellent winter and fall fragrance.
I have a roller ball version of this scent: Smooth oriental scent, with a healthy dose of musk within. Has great sillage and longevity. Marvelous, exotic fragrance worth checking out! ;^>
