Latest Reviews of Green Jeans
Along with Aramis New West and Guy Laroche Horizon, this is part of a sub-sub-genre in fragrance lovingly referred to as "green aquatics" that blended notes used prominently before the 80s with the perfume style of the late 80s and early 90s.
Green Jeans opens very fresh and herbal with a dollop of minty lime. Pine and fir soon try to break through, but until they do the melange temporarily comes off as an oregano accord. While the lime does stay present until the very end, the dry-down is as piney as Pino Silvestre, Aqua Di Selva, and Victor Silvestre.
The most prominent notes in Green Jeans are lime and pine, and both have been heavily industrialized, so there are a fair amount of people who will inevitably say it smells like a car freshener or floor detergent.
Projection and longevity are okay at best.
It was discontinued years ago, and it is sought after by a lot of (now) middle-aged men who used it extensively in their youth, so expect to pay at least double what makes logical sense.
Masculinity Level: Ethan Hawke in Before Sunrise.

Piney sweet green, citrusy and overall yummy.
Has done well over the years since its launch 25 years ago, although it did not survive Gianni's passing.
Cult following means it commands a prettier penny now than when it was new, but still a worthy jus to pursue if you have time to e patient. Blue Jeans is another constructed similarly but with an oriental bent. Very deep, complex sweet spicy floral. I advise acquiring a bottle now before it increases in price.

Why do they always seem to discontinue the ones I like. Since I've only got two bottles of Green Jeans left, I will use them sparingly and for the purpose of bring back smell-related memories. Nevertheless, I find it similar, although not really, to Sud Est by Romeo Gigli, and Bowling Green by Geoffrey Beene. I love green fragrances. I think my favorite "green" fragrance is Polo (the original), as well as the likes of Portfolio Green by Perry Ellis and Calyx by Prescriptives. I find Devin by Aramis and Aramis 500 to be "green," as well as Eternity, Truth, Lauder for Men, One Man Show (original), Jivago 24K, Duc de Vervins, Eternal Love by XLouis, etc.
A very green, strong, blend of pine needles, mint and oregano.
The citrus notes of bergamot and grapefruit provide a sparkling lift to keep it from being too serious, and as such provide a cheerfulness to an otherwise somber scent. Cedar, sandalwood and oak moss provide a grounding woody earthiness without taking over or masking the pine, mint, oregano heart.
This is somewhat reminiscent of the powerhouse men's scents of the 1980s, but without the stereophonic loud speaker sillage of those blends.
It's a very nice masculine scent and the second surprise I have had in trying the Versace Jeans line (Baby Blue Jeans was equally surprising in its originality and balance).
Recommended as a good, solid, reasonably priced men's scent.

Unmistakably "green" quality to this one. Not green like a cut lawn, but green like herbs and aloe. The citrus is prominent throughout the day, with hints of spice rounding out the fragrance.
It's not a unique formula, but Green Jeans is done nicely and can be worn especially during warmer weather.

Curious scent. Green, very green and medicinal. Has some freshness, so spring and summer are probably your best bets. Has a bit of old-school pine but the mint freshens it up a bit.
