The combination of light pepper and saffron, and a rose-related floral core give this scent a warming, pleasant character; I also get the amber note from early on. It is a restrained, unobtrusive amber, more blending in than dominating. A somewhat nonspecific wood note combines with benzoin in the base notes, but the latter is never unpleasant. This is overall a very discrete fragrance on my skin, great in autumn for the office with its limited projection and silage. Longevity is a decent five hours. Good overall but falling short of my expectations compared to other amber scents, unless you like the latter only in small doses. In any case it is worth a try.

Wow! Simply an amazing scent. I'm no fan of the house of Bond, tried so many of their fragrances but find just a few as bottle worthy. However, I must say that this is a damn good scent and I can see myself one day purchasing a bottle of this stuff. It's a nice smooth woody floral scent with some amber in the dry down.

From what I've been reading, it's a toned down version of Bond New York Amber. I like this one much much more than NY Amber though. All in all, I'm pretty impressed with this Bond fragrance.

I love Bn9 New York Amber, and reviewed it awhile back. Herrods Amber is the same thing, only a lesser concentration. I confirmed this with a Bn9 Representative. It is still wonderful, the sharp amber saffron and pepper combination is incredible. Save your money and buy the New York Amber at a higher concentration of fragrance.

I am fairly sure that lots of people will be complaining that Bond no 9 HARRODS AMBER does not smell like amber, but I'm not going to do that, since I happen to believe that we have a surfeit of straight-up amber perfumes available today. (-; Somehow this vast assortment of characteristically potent oriental notes–including myrrh, saffron, nutmeg, pepper, and oud–together produce (alchemically?) a hugely boozy effect on my skin.

Honestly, I feel as though I just went out for an all-night bout of drinking–specifically of dark brown spirits such as scotch. Not at all what I was expecting, but anyone who is looking for a seriously boozy scent should give this one a sniff. Big sillage and impressive longevity, so if you happen to like this kind of composition, you're in luck! As for me, it's high time that I sobered up with a long overdue triple expresso...

Harrods Amber.......this is NOT a safe/generic fragrance. What we have here is a warm, spicy/peppery ambery/woody floral....The amber in this is not the thick syrupy amber that we usually expect....this seems drier but still sweet.
This starts off very resinously, almost like freshly varnished wood (with, I believe, saffron taking the lead) which quickly calms down as the warm, spicy, floral heart makes it's appearance. This is a big, truly unisex floral, which Bond No9 do so well imho. This floral heart persists as the wonderful, sweet, ambery/woody drydown slowly blends its way into the picture. This is not a simple fragrance, and it will take a few more wearings to truly appreciate the finer nuances of this fragrance.
Sillage and longevity imo, have never been a problem with Bond fragrances...and this is no exception, and it really does take most of the day for this journey to unfold......
It is definitely a 'grower', and a very, very addictive fragrance.....Full marks.

Received the sample from Harrods and tried it daily for 4 days till I finished it...the verdict is...

Overall initially, I felt a bit disappointed as it did not feel like an amber scent; felt more like an airy floral bouquet with lasting power on the feminine side...

After a few more wearings of the second sample, I have to admit that Harrods Amber has started to grow on me...and now I can appreciate its sheer quality and uniqueness...

I now have a large bottle and use this lovely stuff all the time...

Big thumbs up...
