Woody Ginger by Dossier

Looking for an alternative to Tom Ford for Men I picked up Woody Ginger for a nice price. Although the price was nice the fragrance is slightly lacking. It doesn't have the bite of the Tom Ford nor the longevity. Which I suppose to fine. Just feel Meh when wearing this dupe.... I guess it will keep me from running through the TF faster than I would like...

Aromatic Star Anise by Dossier

A fair dupe of Dior Sauvage. I would say it has all the facets of the original just not the same longevity or sillage. It is a nice alternative and works the usual settings that most would wear Sauvage, just use more sprays. Enjoy!

Maahir Legacy by Lattafa

Really nice smelling spring and summer fragrance. Very nice quality. Longevity and sillage are above average. It is close to many blueish type fragrances including Sedley by PDM, Boss Bottled Infinite and Cool Water. I do like it and for the price it is well worth the price. Enjoy!

Posh on the Green by Atkinsons

Nice spring/summer vetiver scent that doesn't have the best longevity or sillage but gets the job done IMO. Citrus start with a sour green mid. Dries into a mostly vetiver juice to my nose. I would not pay full price... but if you find a GREAT deal go for it. Enjoy!

Mohra by Lattafa

Wow! Fantastic juice. A little strong at the start but after a few minutes it is a very nice and smooth juice. Similar to several of the fragrances listed above. It is closer to the inspirations from Penhaligons than the Chopards listed IMO. Due to price and availability this is a clear winner. It is not for everyone so sample... otherwise... Enjoy!

Shaghaf Oud Abyad by Swiss Arabian Perfumery

Stunningly close to Interlude Man by Amouage. Not sure why this isn't classified as a unisex juice. Either way for the price and quality I find this to be awesome. Decent longevity and projection (not as BEASTLY as Interlude Man) but gets the job done. I would say try before you buy due to this not being for everyone... Enjoy!

Secret Woods by Costume National

Costume National Secret Woods is a Green version of Interlude Man, which I view as a Blue incense bomb. Of course, Interlude Man is referred to as the "Blue Beast" by many. I wouldn't say Secret Woods is a "Green Beast" but it is on the stronger side to my nose just not beastly. Both are woody and have incense. Both a strong at the start with Interlude pushing longer by a few hours. But the difference is in the green vs blue to my nose. I like both and really don't think these are that similar if you actually smell then side by side. It is a winner of a fragrance. I would sample to make sure this is something you would like... Antaeus by Chanel

WOW what a potent juice from start to finish. It is "OLD SCHOOL" for sure. This is not for everyone IMO. Most likely, this has had to be reformulated due to ingredient restrictions. It is an Animalic and woody Chypre. It is a classic and if you can get your nose on it to try it you may be intrigued by it's masculine character from previous decades. It is sharp, spicy, woody and musky. Overall a neutral in my opinion... if you can wait 4 hours or so for it to start the dry down it may be worth it... but those first few hours are a battle of good vs evil lol... try before you buy...

302 by Bon Parfumeur

Sweet dusty sandalwood. Similar to Meharees by L'Erbolario it's sweeter than Meharees and not as dusty to my nose. I like it but don't love it... Decent longevity and sillage. Comes in at a fantastic price so it is a safe blind buy if you like sweet dusty sandalwood. Enjoy!

Tom Ford Noir Extreme by Tom Ford

Fantastic fragrance from start to finish. 10/10! Buy this fragrance now and Enjoy!

The Odd Fellow's Bouquet by Atkinsons

This is a super strong Benzoin, Tobacco and Labdanum juice. At least for 3 hours or so... This is beastly on me for a few hours before settling down. I like it but do not love it... I will really have to be in the mood to wear this... Winter and Fall days and nights. I wouldn't wear this to the office unless you spray lightly and a couple of hours before going in. I would say this is a try before you buy... Enjoy!

Update 12.01.23 Wearing this today I get a STRONG similarity with Enigma by Roja... Not sure why I didn't pick up on that sooner. I do like it a little more than before... Still a try before you by imo... Enjoy!

Shaghaf Oud Aswad by Swiss Arabian Perfumery

IMHO, this is very similar to Shaghaf Oud. This isn't as strong in projection but it is more "tame" for the lack of a better term. I have both and really like them. Shaghaf Oud would be more for outdoor events while Shaghaf Oud Aswad could be for office wear or a night out. I wouldn't go with more than 2 or 3 sprays of either. Aswad has that "burning wood and rose" smell and I find it fantastic. Great value for the quality as well... Enjoy!

Gucci Guilty pour Homme by Gucci

Smells great. Safe for the office. Shouldn't offend anyone. Longevity is moderate (5 hours or so with 6 sprays). I like it but would not pay full retail. Great spring, summer or for the early fall. I would consider this a day time scent as well. Overall a thumbs up... Enjoy!

Woody Oud by Maison Alhambra

Very similar to Versace Oud Noir and slightly similar to TF Oud Wood. It is blind buy worthy due to pricing and quality. I find the overall enjoyment of the fragrance to be stellar. It does last about 5 hours on skin which is decent and projects for 2 hours or so. Overall it is a winner... Enjoy!

The Other Side of Oud by Atkinsons

Cardamom and cinnamon with hints of oud and vanilla to my nose. I find it pleasant with a nice mild oud. It does have similarities with Davidoff Leather Blend in the mid and dry down. This would work for spring and fall nights out. Overall a winner if you can find it for the right price (less than $80 US). Enjoy!

1872 for Men by Clive Christian

Lots of sour citrus to start. Very masculine leaning. Awesome for spring and early summer for sure. More casual in my opinion. In the dry down light citrus and woods. For the price this is a try before you buy for sure. Get a sample or two to make sure this is what you are looking for. IMO this is just an OK juice. Nothing overwhelming or "Must Own". Enjoy!

This is my first experience with the house of Floris and I would say this is a solid MEH! I did give it a neutral rating due to performance and there is some quality to the juice. I also take into account this was formulated in the early 1990's. Fragrances of that day were very different than now. This is a very straight forward juice from start to finish. Citrusy and very GREEN to my nose. This is similar in the start to Trefle Pur by Atelier Cologne but only in the first 15 minutes. The TP is much smoother towards the middle and dry down. I don't find it similar to GIT or Cool Water. IMO this is a sample first. I did get this for a fair price so I am not complaining. Enjoy!

Signature Noir by Zaharoff

First from this house. Initial thoughts.... well the oud is slightly medicinal, I get a mix of woods and citrus. It's a little similar to YSL M7 Fresh (which I own). The M7F is stronger in the citrus department. This is more woody. It is a try before you buy in my opinion. Overall it is a strong "like". Better for cool spring days and fall nights. Enjoy!

Tobacco & Tonka Bean by Banana Republic

Fantastic fragrance. Decent longevity and projection. Fruity tobacco with some sweetness. For the price and quality this is such an easy blind buy. It is similar to a Zara Tobacco RWA but IMO BR is much better. Overall a winner and worthy a blind buy. Enjoy!

Hero Eau de Parfum by Burberry

I really like this fragrance. I do wish there was more pine needles or maybe some fir added. I get some sweetness, lots of cedar and incense. I find this to be exceptional for winter wear. For the right price (DO NOT PAY RETAIL), it is a winner in my book. Enjoy!

Dark Forest by The Woods Collection

Citrus, Honey sweetness and some spice. Slight hint of patchouli which is off and on to my nose. I like it but do not love it. Day scent that isn't offensive. More casual than anything else. For the price and quality it is FB worthy. Enjoy!

This being my first wearing of this, I will say I am impressed. It is a dry version of Shaghaf Oud (Gold Bottle) by Swiss Arabian IMO. This is missing the praline sweetness. Otherwise it is pretty similar. Overall a winner for price and quality. Enjoy!

Boss Bottled Oud Aromatic by Hugo Boss

This is a very interesting citrus floral start that turns into a spicy almost tea like myrrh scent. A very pleasing dry down that lasts about 7 to 8 hours on my skin. It is unique to my current collection and find this will be fantastic in the spring or fall, day or night. At the right price, this is a good quality juice. A Try Before You Buy! Enjoy!

L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Noir Ambré by Issey Miyake

WOW! WOW! WOW! Amazing juice. It is similar to a few others on the market (PDM Habdan and TF TV for sure) with just a slight difference with the vetiver. Overall I find it most similar to Korres Saffron Tobacco this is just sweeter. Really great and it is available on online sites. Get a bottle while you can people. Enjoy!
