Negative Reviews of Millésime Impérial by Creed
One of a million
Weak, even at first spray. By far the weakest Creed Ive tried. Its salty and fruity. Has that creed base that feels fine, but a bit more watered down than in their standard ilk.
Just comes across as a fruity salty frag. Unremarkable.
Based on the inflated price im going thumbs down. It would be neutral at about $55.

A brief fruity melon replaced by the smell of perspiration. That salty aquatic vibe I just don't care for. It's evident in Tom Ford's Mardarino d'Amalfi as well, but in the Tom Ford fragrance, the mandarin works for me with the perspiration smell and comes across more like sweat washed over by salt water on the beach with oranges mixed in. Millesime Imperial smells to me like an antipersperant trying to cover the smell of body odor. That's how most aquatic style fragrances smell to me though. Definitely not one I'll invest in.

I loved the sample much better than my bottle. It seemed overly sweet and didn't have the intriguing factor and failed to deliver the notion of regality that I remembered...so I returned it with no questions asked. It was extremely weak (like Skin @ 1hr and Nonexistent @ 4hr mark weak) and for $385, no thanks. Aventus grew stronger during the first month to the point I need only one spray so perhaps returning was unfair, but the value for MI was terrible if paying full retail. Will make another attempt but super disappointed.
I prefer weaker, less invasive scents like MI, but it didn't do it for me. Maybe batch issues? Easy to accuse the ol' batch but...

This is about the fifth time I have tried this. I thought I might stumble into a wonderful batch.
MI just doesn't work for me. The opening accord tanks imo -- sweet and saline jut means hissy in my book.
The drydown is ok and lasts a fair while on me, but this overriding salty screechiness just won't go away and it comes across as just too synthetic.

Fresh as a Fresh Cleaning Product Reminds me of 'Flash with Febreze Freshness New Zealand Springs All-Purpose Cleaner' which is very nice as all purpose cleaners go, but I wouldn't want to wear the stuff. -Pros: It's fresh! Yes: F. R. E. S. H.Cons:
I honestly wish I knew what the hype is about. This is a very generic smelling forgettable fragrance. It smells like any other forgettable sports scent out there. There is nothing different about this than a dept. store fragrance obtainable for under $30. Stick with GIT or Aventus, at least you won't smell like every high school jock who bought the latest sports flanker...
Seriously what is the big deal about this? Luckily i didn't buy a friend of mine had a bottle which he raves about. i tried it over some time to give it a fair chance.
I mean it's so generic, it doesn't justify the price tag. My father used to wear Avon aftershaves that smelled the same as this. It lasts about ten seconds and then it's gone.
I really do not understand the hype.

Nobody at Creed Towers thought Beyond Banal was a particularly good name for a fragrance, so they plumped for MI. Hyped up by all the heavy breathing on the net forums about this one, I couldn't believe what I was sniffing. This is such a generic masculine cool citrus with synthetic herby twangs that it pained me to try it on my skin. Not that its badly made, just crushingly dull.
This is one of those generic sporty classic men's fragrances that does nothing for me. I think it's boring, can be found cheaper from other brands. The price is quite "special" though....
I have tried this a few times at Neiman Marcus thinking it would be my next buy and each time I have been completely underwhelmed. It's incredibly weak. It immediately sits close to the skin and I can barely tell I have anything on. I like what I can smell, but it's so muted it's clearly not worth a purchase.
I get the typical, for me, dominating unpleasant fruity metallic note that I get from many Creed fragrances. Fortunately, it does not project well on me, and the large dose I applied is barely noticeable. Given how popular this is, I am going to store my sample, and try again in 6-12 months, as I seem to be one of the few people on the planet that doesn't like it.
I'm biased against fruity aquatics from the outset, so one should take my review with a grain of salt. Millésime Impérial has a very astringent and natural-smelling lemon top, which rapidly transitions into a melon and iris blend, with salty ambergris tinting its frail base. While everything smells clear and somewhat natural, I've smelled much better aquatics for much less. Halston has this exact same scent for $240 less, and with more character. I appreciate the summer fizz of Millésime Impérial, but in a crowded genre, it simply offers too little to bother paying a Creed price. If you want salted fruit, get Unbound for Men instead.
I think this is a bit of a victim of its own success. Just smelling the fragrance as it is without caring about Creed, King Faisal etc. one gets a fresh fruity scent that, while coming with a nice ambregris note, has SO MANY competitors these days that I find it extremely hard to justify the extra price tag. No need to mention Unforgivable, even extreme cheapies like Nautica Blue (No, really. Try it!) manage to combine freshness and fruityness, with a base that may be constructed of cheap synthetic musk molecules, but still gives an impression of something-like-ambregris. It's not a horribly bad scent, but neither Creed's heritage nor the high price is adequately mirrored by the scents quality/complexity, which is why I give a thumbs-down.
On my skin:- smells cheap- gives me headacheAnd it's overpriced, of course.
A fruity marine kind of Victoria Secret fragrance that I can't stand.
A bit disappointed after the experience of Vetiver and Royal Water in the past. Smells wonderful but very light and longevity is poor!
After dropping $250 on this stuff I was disappointed to find that A, it last about 60 seconds on my skin or on clothing, and B, they have stopped putting it in that cool gold bottle. A waste of cash. Starts off smelling like a really beautiful and expensive scent mixed with stagnant well water, then fades into oblivion.
It's a very clean smell after the dry down, but starting out it smells like I just applied the Bath & Body works Cucumber & Melon lotion. The Bergamot stands out, as does the melon note. At some point it smells like I just walked into a humidor. This is probably better suited for an older man... with gray hair.
A dry metallic wood with musks. Well, that's all I get for 30 minutes before it leaves my skin. If your skin is dry try Bois du Portugal which lasts longer. It's just another bottle to sit on the shelf.
YUCK! Heard everyone raving about this so I gave it a shot….pheeeEEeew!! Couldn't wait to get it off my skin! Smells like hairy dark Shaboo-boo AL-boo-bi men that bathe in cologne to mask their pungent body odor…catch my drift?
Being partial to more masculine frags, I couldn't get into this one. The typical Creed quality is there but this is just to fruity and unisex for my taste. If you like more green, clean or masculine try GIT, Himalaya or BDP. For a night out try Acier Alumimum. I enjoy many Creed scents and respect their quality but dont' buy this blind.
Long story short I really didn't care for this one. Smells strange- like sweaty feet mixed with cologned dryer sheets.
Hmm, I wonder if I got a bad sample. All I smelled was salt. It was as though I had splashed some water out of the harbor on me. I felt dirty and smelly for quite a while.
