An avatar is an image that people use to identify themselves to others. We highly recommend uploading an avatar as it helps distinguish your content to others on the forums and other areas of the site.
Your avatar doesn’t have to be a picture of you, it can be almost anything – provided that the image falls under our terms of use. If you represent a brand, you may wish to use your company’s logo for your avatar.
If you do not upload an avatar, we will check to see if you have a Gravatar associated with your email address. If you do not, we will generate an avatar for you using the initial character of your username and a random colour.
To upload an avatar, go to your account details page. It is recommended that you use an image that is at least 400×400 pixels. You can also use an avatar from the Gravatar service if you wish.
