There are many different ways to format your post to help get your message across. Most of these can be accessed via the tool bar at the top of the text box. Please note that if you are on mobile, or a small screen, some of the options in the toolbar may be hidden in a menu.
You can check out the BBCODE page for some examples of how you can format your post
Adding images and videos #
To add an image to your post, press the image button and select which image you wish to upload. If you are using a computer, you can also drag an image from your desktop, or paste from your clipboard.
You can add videos from sites such as YouTube or Vimeo, simply by pasting the link to the video in your post.
Mentions #
You can mention people in a post, which will notify them if they have alerts turned on. You can do this by typing a @ and then type their username.
quoting a part of post #
If you wish to quote just part of a message – highlight the part you wish to quote and then press reply.
Saving a draft #
If you are not yet ready to post your message, and want to come back to it later, you can save it as a draft by pressing the Save as Draft button. If you then go back later and attempt to post a reply or new message in the same place as you saved your draft, you will see a message that says:
You have a saved draft. Click here to load it.
Pressing this will restore your message.
Basenotes will also automatically save a draft for you as you are composing, every {60 seconds}. Drafts will be stored by the site for {7} days.
