NEW! SoTD page has had a much needed revamp!

New: Add 'Occasions', 'Weather' and 'Mood' to your SOTDs​

When you add, or edit a SOTD entry, you now have the option to add some predefined categories to your wearing of the fragrance.

• Want to note that you're wearing it for work? Hit the work button!
• Is it sunny? Press Sunny.
• Are you really stressed? Bash that Stressed Button really hard!

Please note that occasions and weather are public, and moods are private just between you.

Coming soon: Ability to Search for your categorised wears, so you'd be able to see which fragrances you wear most when you're at the beach and it's raining, or whatever!

New: Search for the fragrance you are wearing directly on the SOTD page​

Previously, when you are wanting to log your scent of the day, you had to find it in the database, and click wearing. Obviously that's not a big deal as the Basenotes Directory Search is really awesome...

But sometimes you just wanna quickly log your SOTD without all that business. And now you can!

If you go to the SOTD page and find the box that says 'What fragrance are you wearing?' (see above) and start typing in what you are wearing. The search should kick in after you have entered a few characters:


The fragrances are ordered by the most popular -- but if there are ones you have worn before, they will be listed first.

New: Log perfumes that aren't in the directory​

A much asked for request, and you can now do it. If you are wearing something that isn't in the directory, or even something that you've made yourself or had made for you, you can add a custom fragrance.


In the fragrance search box on the SOTD page, if nothing is found, you will get the option to add a custom fragrance.

You can then add some details



And voila!

Every now and then, I'll check in on these custom fragrances and get them in the directory if they are valid!

And next time you come to wear it, it will also show up in your search results:

Yeah I know, weird right? However, you may wish to log the absence of scent, as well as what scents you wear, and if you want that, you can now do it!

(Click on the What fragrance are you wearing bar, and then click No Fragrance)

It doesn't work on Microsoft Edge as well. It doesn't work on mobile app as well.

Yes, very awesome! I'm already taking advantage of the new features. I look forward to trying a new fragrance, too, to submit it!

I absolutely love everything about it except the symbol next to the number of wears, which seems unnecessary. Thank you @Grant, lovely having all these features back and I also love the custom scent idea and adding them to the directory eventually!

This is looking fantastic but can we possibly extend these charts to include all fragrances worn instead of just the top 30 (i.e. like it used to be)? I tend to like to see my top 50 for the year and my top 200 for all time.

Any chance of adding a Morning button to the scent occasions ? (SOTM) Sure I'm not the only person to wear a cologne early in the morning, which is then superseded by a SOTD.

Hello. i don't know if it's my fault, but when I want to add to my scent of the day a fragrance I've worn several days ago, each time this same fragrance is added to my "today" fragrance, although I'm not wearing it today. I hope I'm clear in my explanations. For instance, today I'm wearing Hattric, which I chose this morning and click on. But now, I wanted to tell the wardrobe the fact that I've worn Eau Danfre the 25th of july. Well, the wardrobe adds it also for today...Any hints I've missed ? Thnak you !
