This September L’Artisan Parfumeur launches ‘Explosions d’Emotions’, three new concepts by long-time collaborator Bertrand Duchaufour, intended to ‘translate the emotional power of fragrance’ – Amour Nocturne, Déliria and Skin on Skin.
Amour Nocturne, ‘the intimacy of the night’, has notes of cedar, hot milk and caramel, which give way to a burst of gunpowder and orchid, with a dash of vodka.
Deliria, ‘exhilaration of the senses’, is a contrast between metallic notes, rum, and gourmand notes of toffee apple and candyfloss. This scent has no heart notes and, according to Justine Lacaille of L’Artisan Parfumeur, it also contains, at 10%, an unusually high amount of floral ozone. Possibly the most striking of the three, even the box reflects the ‘rollercoaster’ mood with its textured pattern.
Skin on Skin, ‘a wanton embrace’, combines iris with a suede note; it also contains saffron, whisky, lavender and rose, with a base of musk and skin effects.
All three fragrances feature alcohol and metallic notes, as well as aldehydes. Justine tells us that the ‘Explosions d’Emotions’ concept may be developed further at a later date.
The fragrances are housed in bottles which reference the traditional L’Artisan Parfumeur octagonal bottle, and the boxes are decorated with thickly-textured white paper covered in original embossed motifs which reflect the mood of each fragrance.
‘Explosions d’Emotions’ will be available in 125ml for £135, from L’Artisan Parfumeur boutiques, concessions and the L’Artisan Parfumeur website, from early September.
