Parfums M. Micallef is celebrating the tenth anniversary of Aoud, its masculine eau de parfum. To celebrate this, the fragrance is being re-released as part of Les Exclusifs collection.
A woody-spicy fragrance, Aoud is composed of notes of oud, sandalwood and patchouli, spiced by cinnamon, saffron and clove – a deliberate combination of traditionally oriental and traditionally occidental notes.Geoffrey Nejman, owner of the company, comments: ‘The impulse Aoud has given to the brand Parfums M.Micallef for ten years encouraged me to work further into this direction.’ This led him to create 2012’s Royal Rose Aoud, a fragrance which celebrates the oud and rose mix. He adds: ‘For five years now, Martine and I have noticed that a kind of oud trend was generalizing in the niche perfume market and that many brands were testing it. This leads us rather to experiment new ways in the future.’Aoud opens with a top note of rose, with a heart of oud, sandalwood, cinnamon, saffron and clove, on a patchouli base. It is available in 30ml and 100 ml sizes.
