This Autumn, Lebanese couturier Elie Saab will be revealing his first fragrance for women – Elie Saab Le Parfum. Saab’s twenty-five years as a couturier have inspired him to create a fragrance which he hopes will ‘celebrate the splendour and brilliance of the radiant femininity which has always inspired him.’ Saab’s designs are created without the use of patterns, draping fabric directly onto the body. I like ‘womanly women’, women who twirl their dresses with desire and pride, Saab says. Ever since my childhood in Lebanon, I’ve examined the way they dress, I’ve always wanted to please them by flattering their curves.Created by world-renowned perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, Elie Saab Le Parfum is based on a ‘floral, solar, woody theme’, with opening notes of orange blossom, ‘a solar evocation of Mediterranean petals whose light echoes the sun at its height’. The middle notes are jasmine and patchouli, then a white flower bouquet is combined with a cedarwood accord, finally finishing with rose honey.Designed by Sylvie de France, the bottle was created to reflect Saab’s passion for design and architecture. I wanted something simple. Straight lines, the rigour of a cube, and the sensation of an object made to be held in the hand, but with the density of beautiful objects, says Saab. And as always, light as the overarching theme. For me, light is eternal strength.

As for the perfume, tried it, liked it. It's got a nice sillage and it stays bright.
Fleurine - it's different from both of those. It's brighter than APOM, though the orange blossom is there. And it hasn't got the 'clean musk' of NR. (Which is fine by me, as I'm not a fan of that one).
