Beauty group, L’Oréal, is considering the possibility of acquiring a minority take in Omani luxury perfume brand, Amouage, according to reports by Bloomberg.
Amouage was founded in 1983 by the Sultanate of Oman’s royal family in collaboration with French perfumer Guy Robert, and has established itself as one of the most prestigious and sought-after perfume brands globally.
In the last year, under the creative direction of Renaud Salmon, the brand have released several fragrances including Love Delight, Amber Sogara, Purpose, Search, Lineage, and Guidance.
L’Oréal is no stranger to snapping up luxury and niche perfume brands. In recent years the company has acquired Aesop and Atelier Cologne,
No confirmation as yet. According to Bloomberg, “A representative for L’Oréal declined to comment. A spokesperson for SABCO [Amouage’s parent company] couldn’t immediately comment, while calls to Amouage weren’t answered.”
