The latest fragrance from French perfumer Mona Di Orio has been announced. According to the house, Jabu, meaning joy has been created “for Orange Babies as a remberence of Jabu, saluting Africa”. The eau de parfum will be available in 50ml or 100ml signature flacons, featuring the instantly recognisable champagne muselet fastening around the black bakelite cap and nestling in the Mona Di Orio classic grey box. The scent itself contains top notes of Brasilian orange flower, South African petit grain and sweet pea. The middle notes come from rose damascena, ylang ylang and santal amyris. Base notes of Siamese benzoin, plum and myrrh finish the fragrance.The scent is described as “Joyful, vivid and vibrant. A wind arriving with the coloured beat of Africa and laughter of children of Orange Babies.” Orange babies is a dutch based charity whose primary purpose is to support pregnant women with HIV and their babies in Africa. Further support is offered to children who lives are affected by the virus. Projects include providing powdered feed to avoid mother to child infection through breast-feeding, providing medication and developing education programmes.
