Does it matter if the crimp cover of a perfume is crooked?

Is it the bottom or the top? The top usually comes off and can be put back properly, and is usually not a problem. The bottom cannot be fixed. Sometimes, it's not an issue, but other times, it can let perfume slowly evaporate. Not in matter of days, but > 1 year. So if you are planning to use the perfume within a year or two, it shouldn't be a problem.

The bottom piece is called the collar and it can be removed with a pair of needle nosed pliers. Then you can see if there is an issue with the pump. In a worst case scenario you could remove the pump and pour the liquid into a new screw-top bottle of your choosing. You can do that by firmly, but gently, grasping the pump where it is crimped and rotating it until you cause the metal to split. Don't squeeze too hard or you'll smash the neck of the bottle. If you do smash the neck, filter the perfume through coffee filter paper when pouring the liquid into a new bottle.

Thank you for your response. i might try that. i do see some people say their collar comes off when it gets stuck inside the cap, makes me think maybe then its okay if the collar is crooked, if its sole purpose is just to cover the crimp pump and help the cap lock into place, i mean do you even really need it, what is the purpose of it? i thought its purpose was to seal the bottle of fragrance

its the collar of the bottle. Thank you for your response. yeah i see people online saying their collar is loose or stuck sometimes but still can use their perfume, so maybe that means it doesnt act like a seal just cosmetically covers an unsightly crimp pump? not sure! haha
