Hello all, I've been trying to make a formula similar to Monsieur Musk. A friend of mine loves it, but the new formulations pale in comparison to the older original.
Can anyone help?
I've come up with vintage feeling perfumes, but not close enough to Monsieur Musk.

Maybe just a bit of Galaxolide and Helvetolide for the fruitiness. Important materials like Jovanovic has said are natural rum, safranal, mandarin + aldehyde (really just a minimum), maltol, amber xtreme, norlimbanol, hints of some fruity ac's. Being almost 50%, the correct patchouli to use is foundamental. I think he used the LMR patchouli heart n. 3 MD.
He said that used sucralose too, but not many informations, i don't know.
It doesn't seem a too complex perfume, a big patchouli bomb.

I agree, so many great perfumes are being reformulated and not for the better.
If it ain't broke don't fix it as they say!
