Perfume Reviews

Mugler Cologne by Thierry Mugler

I am a big Cologne fan and have been since it first came out! There's something that I really love about this elusive scent... on me it has a really pleasant green note that is deceptively long lasting. Thanks for the post.I know what I'll be wearing tomorrow as I haven't tried it since last winter. It should be great in hot weather!I believe that the line now includes the body/hair shampoo, at least I think I saw it a couple weeks ago but I was in a rush so I'll look into it. I also wish they had the deoderant to complete the experience. Ìs it soap? Is it deoderant? I like that!! So true! It's one of those scents that makes you wonder and keep on guessing. I like that. The more you wear it, the more you like it and like you said the more you get it!

Minotaure by Paloma Picasso

I am loving Minotaure. It puts me in the mind of Roma Uomo. This is such a warm, romantic fragrance and I am getting frequent compliments. I find it hard to fathom that the production has been discontinued. Guess I'll have to buy a couple of bottles and keep them on ice

Cristobal pour Homme by Balenciaga

Having a sanguine nature I decided to try Cristobal after the rave reviews. Well it didn't hold up to all the scrutiny. It smells an awful lot like Rochas Man, but I prefer Rochas Man to this one. To each his own.

Céline pour Homme by Céline

This is wonderful. It's similar to Salvatore Ferragamo, just in my opinion so much better. Take the plunge and smell good.

Chanel Pour Monsieur by Chanel

What we have with Pour Monsieur is the definitive Gentlemen's fragrance from times gone by. Its no secret that this is the first men's fragrance from Chanel, but its a classic. It starts off rather sweet indeed, the neroli and lemon mixing quickly. The common scent through the day is a very distinguished but sweet one, neither modern nor aged. Its worth getting the Concentrate as this lasts longer, as the only fault of this beauty is that it fades very quickly.

Jako by Lagerfeld

Jako is definitely a flashback to the days of musky men's colognes. None of this unisex stuff here, it immediately smacks of a man's scent through and through. It starts off with a smacking burst of bergamot. This can fool the undiscerning man trying it out at a counter, making you think its a cheap mix. But give it a moment or two to settle. As it mixes into your skin it starts to emit the true scent. The Divan and Rosewood come out clean, and its this that stays through the day. Without fail the women take a second look - this is not an CK One washing up smell! The best is reserved for the moments when your body heat picks up. The second release of the scent, mixed with your own heat, gives off what one can only assume is the Musky base notes of sandalwood and leather. This is definitely one for the Gentlemen. Give it a go, a small bottle, but don't be put off with the initial smart of the spray, let it settle.

Opium pour Homme by Yves Saint Laurent

Opium pour Homme is definitely a fragrance for the fan of the spicy oriental family of scents. It starts off as strikingly sweet, which is perfect for those morning blues. It soon calms down to a very spicy yet subtly sweet fragrance that continues throughout the day without fail. The bonus is, if sprayed onto pulse points, as your blood pumps faster and hotter, the fragrance kicks up again, and this time it comes back in a spicy-sweet aura. Its lovely how the ingredients manage to mix into another burst of scent, and the girls often wonder where that sweetness is coming from. Definitely one to try, and if it works for you, keep at it!

X-Centric by Dunhill

X-tra boring! --Dunhill is appealing to the masses on this debockle. It's not a bad scent at all, but it's neither original OR memorable in the least. Run-of-the-mill scent; comes out fresh, fades fast.

Blu pour Homme by Bulgari

BLV is a great spicy woody scent. The ginger-tobacco accord is superb and very fresh. Too bad the base isn't very long-lasting on my skin! The after-shave emulsion is also amazing!

Aura for Men by Jacomo

While not unpleasant to smell, I somehow expected a deeper, richer experience after reading up on the fragrance notes. This fragrance doesn't stand out to me as anything really special. I guess I expected to open the bottom and be taken on some musky, ambery, sandally journey and I really wasn't. I think perhaps I expected more amber, more musk, more cedar and maybe some more patchouli or something. You be your own judge.

Space NK Man by Space NK

Warm, spicy natural essences keep you fresh for ages and don't inflame hypoallegenic inclinations.OK i'm being trendy (or trying to - you must get bored with the one-liners and chat-up geeks???) but was given this as a freebie in Manchester and have kinda taken to it. Slightly costly but hoping they have more in stock when i'm able to return to ask for a bigger load.PS great website!

Bulgari pour Homme by Bulgari

I can't believe I never smelled this before. I smell SOOO good! I feel like I have been searching for this fragrance all my life and now I've found it. I understand from others that it doesn't last long enough so I have ordered the Extreme and am curious if this will last longer. Bulgari for Men rocks.

Truth Calvin Klein Men by Calvin Klein

This really is wonderful, and I normally stay away from very fresh, green fragrances. But this is exceptional and I keep smelling myself. I didn't think I'd like anything with Calvin's name on it other than Obsession, but this one got me. I don't believe it's in major department stores yet so I am free to wear it for a little while. Once it hits the stores then Everyone will run buy it. But for now I'm safe

Tempore Uomo by Laura Biagiotti

Tempore is great but I have to disagree in that it does not absolutely does not smell remotely like Casran by Chopard. Try this, you will like this.

Jordan by Michael by Michael Jordan

Purchased this based on comments from others. While I don't hate it it just doesn't do it for me personally and I gave it away. I've heard it described as an old school type of scent. It's a creamy fragrance, not overpowering and some people will enjoy it, just I'm not one of them so I guess I'm not too old school.

Roma Uomo by Laura Biagiotti

I definitely have to disagree with Josh A's perceptions. This fragrance is WAY up there and one of my favorites!! I have gotten frequent compliments from others and they aren't saying how good it smells just to be kind. Anything you wear depends on your body chemistry. This is exciting, deep, sensuous and makes the wearer who wears it well feel exuberated. Incredibly delicious fragrance. There will always be 2 or three who will find something wrong with any fragrance so do yourself a favor and try this one for yourself.

Intuition for Men by Estée Lauder

Yes, Intuition is here! At least were I live!I did bend and got myself a large spray. It is in the same line as Allure for men but better not so sharp and heavy sweet. The bottle is just beautiful. The poster model for the scent is a very dark mysterious man.

Fath Pour l'Homme by Jacques Fath

Fath is a most unusual and warm, sensual scent. It may seem a bit too sweet if you use too much...as a little goes a long way. They also make a wonderful Spray Deodorant that is just as terrific. It's not sold everywhere and that's a plus, for me. I found both the cologne AND the Spray DEO. at Perfumebay.com. If you want, you can try one of the Deodorants and see if you like the scent. It's a rather undiscovered fragrance, but I find it a "winner."

Roma Uomo by Laura Biagiotti

I really cannot stand Romo Uomo. It has such a deeply pungent, sweet scent. I bought it hastily and tried the cologne, the Spray Deodorant, and The Shower Gel. It really was so strong and had an awful thick overly sweet scent, I felt nauseated! I know this is a fine House, but Laura sure didn't make me take my clothes off...it made me run for some fresh air

Weekend for Men by Burberry

Weekend is a very nice, lite, fresh fragrance...nice for casual wear. It's citrus and fresh and not in the least, heavy. I've enjoyed it, literally, for weekend wearing. It's easy duty and makes you feel fresh and relaxed

Xeryus Rouge by Givenchy

This is one of my favorites! I love the combination of Fresh and Warm and very Sensual, within a minute of putting it on. I find this one of the BEST. It's simple, but very classy and compliments seem to just some naturally. As with most scents, it does smell differently on different people. But if you like Warm and fresh and unusual and NOT over powering...than this may be the same Discovery for you, that it's been for me. They also make a GREAT Spray Deodorant, but it's impossible to find in the US. But even the Deo. alone, is a great fresher upper!

Jazz by Yves Saint Laurent

A total rediscovery of this fragrance for me!Its very unique it very sharp to the nose in it opening notes.  What make this scent stand out to me is the deep blend of sandalwood and rose, it different for men's scent and I sure this was a fragrance way ahead of it time.Over all it blends quietly on the stink to say true all day.  I highly recommend this if you want something against the grain of all the citrus scent out now.  Very great for summer.I also love the redesigned bottle it plays great on the reflection of light and black and white.

The very best oriental scent for men, IMHO! Very rich, sweet floral and delicately spicy and creamy. An ideal scent for the cold season. Simply fantastic!

Body Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent

I really enjoy this fragrance and feel it is a real step up or modernization for the Kouros line. I've always been a very athletic person and love the whole body range.  The stuff is great after a hot shower at the gym from weight lifting.  The cooling body gel is great for the skin and the new all over body spray is WOW on the skin!
