I've been searching to expand my usual go-to fragrances of woods, resins, incense, oud, vanilla, patchouli, rose, etc. I bought a large sample of "Je Ne Sais Quoi" by Teo Cabanel and the kind seller included a rather hefty sample of Mancera "Instant Crush."

I won't bother repeating what so many others have already stated on this site and elsewhere about this perfume. While lovely enough, my immediate impression upon spraying this fragrance was "it's nice enough...smells so familiar...been there, done that."

IMO, Instant Crush smells so similar to the insane number of chypre fragrances with ROSE currently flooding the niche market. In my mind, the list is so lengthy I cannot even begin. However, Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Queens & Monsters by Henry Rose, Noir de Noir by Tom Ford, Gold Rose Oud by Tiziana Terenzi, Une Rose Chypree by Andy Tauer and so many others come to mind.

Opens with aldehydic citruses & spice with some ozonic notes (a nice touch), develops with rose, jasmine & patchouli, lands with vanilla, musk, woods, oakmoss. Longevity is forever and silage is perfect at low-moderate. IMO, this "can" be unisex but leans quite feminine.

Instant Crush is a very nice perfume and if I didn't own so many similar fragrances, it might be full bottle worthy. Mancera is usually not among my most coveted houses because I've experienced poor performance, longevity and silage with their fragrances. But Instant Crush seems to be an exception.

With all of this said, I am still on my search for a unique, intriguing floral (likely violet-centric) fragrance.

If you like the listed notes, Instant Crush will not disappoint.

I agree with speedracer's review. There's a smoky and peppery sandalwood vibe to this fragrance, and at times, it feels a little synthetic. However, if you look past that, you'll find a scent that is quite similar to BR540. I would give this fragrance a similarity rating of around 60% to the original. In the air, it's probably 70-80% similar. If the peppery/synthetic aspect was removed, I'd give it a rating of 65-70%. The scratchiness sort of ruins the elegance and airiness of the original.

Few days back I bought it with magnetic cap & batch was 20C091C. It's cap logo is also changed "M" with some flower sketch. Mine is poor in performance :-( Longevity is hardly 4/5 hours with 1 hour week Projection.
Did someone else experience it??

Similar to Baccarat Rouge 540 with lots of sweetness but with more peppery sandalwood and feels like more smoke or something singed. I prefer Baccarat Rouge 540 and Kalan to Instant Crush but wearing this around my wife got me noticed. She liked it.

Feels like a unisex scent, best for outdoors or in a large crowd. It's just very strong both in projection and longevity.

Honestly this is beautiful. To me, it has that BR540 vibe minus the latex gloves, so it's definitely a winner in my book and I will wear this far more often than BR540.
Oh and it's a compliments machine, if that's your thing.

I do get a vanilla but not as a major player. I get synthetic, rubber, and a black tea smell. I was surprised when I looked up the notes. I don't get floral at all. It is hideous. I see it is categorized as a women's fragrance. I am a woman who wears mostly men's and unisex fragrances so perhaps other noses will get something completely different. My nose decisively says no.
