It's no surprise that L'altro didn't sell. It's not your usual '90s aquatic nor is it pungent '80s stuff. Instead, It's a cold herbal green cinnamon fragrance: Coriander + light green notes + cinnamon (used here in a very restrained way).
Overall it's a pleasant fragrance, but somehow it's somewhere between a casual and a formal fragrance what may have confused consumers.

Lucky to re-discover by chance this discontinued italian little pearl with a sort of vintage appeal of left back precious things eclipsed by time. Another great classic from Borsalino (a respectful italian tailors brand) unfortunately less appreciated in comparison with Borsalino Classic and Chapeau (or Panama). L'Altro is a really woody/spicy aroma, a virile old-school chypre strong over bergamot, herbs (probably artemisia, rosemary or bay leaf), oakmoss and patchouli in a way conjuring me scents a la Basile Uomo, V&A Pour Homme (just partially) or vaguely Sud Est Gigli and Guerlain Coriolan. The woodiness Is really spicy (cinnamon, cloves, coriander I suppose) in a sharp fluidy way while I detect dry floral notes as geranium or possibly carnation. The dry down, as mastered by dry sandalwood, dry spices, patchouli and oakmoss is pungent, earthy and somewhat woodsy. May be a minimal touch of leather abides in depth of the gray dry down. You will feel always confortable and distinguished wearing such type of classic piece of "exotic" virility. Recommended but this gem is pratically impossible to find nowadays.
