The company says:

A homage to John William Waterhouse and Alfred Tennyson. L'Anima Della Rosa is inspired by a Waterhouse's painting, "The Soul of the Rose", which is believed to be inspired by a poem of Lord Tennyson. While the main theme of L'Anima Della Rosa is rose, the scent is also a depiction of the beautiful garden scene elaborated in the Tennyson's poem. In this composition, we followed the imagination of the poet and explored the fragrant garden depicted in the poem. A variety of flowers as well as other scented objects are transformed from words in the imaginary world into perfume notes in real life. L'Anima Della Rosa is the one poetic perfume that not only brings a painting, a literature work and a fine fragrance together, it also juxtaposes the aesthetics of two different eras, the Victorian and the contemporary.

Oh this is one of those, why didn't I buy a bottle when it was available situations?

I had a sample and it was sort of like Joy on acid, which is to say, mind- blowingly floral. Roses check, lilies check, jasmine check check. All systems go.
You definitely catch a daffodil note too. That's odd, because in my garden the sequence is: daffodils long before roses, but never mind.

The previous reviewer is right in highlighting that animalic note, which is big and ought to be off-putting but isn't. Instead that note, that human, there's someone sweating around here note, actually makes this rose very wearable. Significant for me because as a rule, roses smell like: vinegar, toilet paper, baby powder, anything except a rose on my skin. This one, by smelling almost more animal than vegetable, managed to smell like a rose

A garden perfume from the Au brothers, where the blooms are open and touched by cool morning air, hints of green, some of the near citric tones that are often part of the make up of living roses, pulpy fruity accents of more exotic flowers. A heady mix for sure but tempered by a serene, greyish, almost metallic tea note up top and by the gentleness of the execution.
There is a touch of deflated expectation on my part as I had expected the roses to play more of a starring role, but this is very much a mixed bouquet, a kind of floral nectar where I can pick out the honeysuckle and acacia, alongside the rose. I've no idea what a passion flower smells like, but there's definitely a touch of the moreish sour-sweetness of passion fruit here.
Tucked underneath, almost completely hidden, is an unobtrusive accord that smells like human skin – the figure in this garden perhaps. L'Anima Della Rosa feels gracious and unforced, unlike the huge personalities of some other Auphorie perfumes, but it is nonetheless capable of filling a room – so just a spray or two is optimal use.
