Le Joker

Le Joker is without a question, heavily inspired by Oud Minerale. The composition, however, feels a bit more natural, softer, and more approachable for daily wear. It feels airier, somehow brighter, with an addition of tobacco and moss. Oud Minerale, on the other hand is inkier, darker, smokier, with a wet stone mineralic touch. It smells like seating by the ocean on dark gloomy day, while catching whiffs of a stone fire pit nearby. While Le joker has more of an airy, tobacco, ash-like essence, (which is likely the result of cypriol and/or birch tar) and becomes warmer as it develops. Eventually you are left with a velvet suede like texture that almost feels like silky smooth beach sand. Both are elegant complex scents and are different enough to own both. I would happily wear Le Joker in the day time, and Oud Minerale at night. Overall, great stuff.

A very nice incense perfume. I especially like the elemi in here - you can really smell that peppery wafting incense smoke with hints of lemon. The pepper amplifies it while cedar underneath brings out a frankincense vibe. Hours in, the drydown is a rich, sweet mix of incense and ambrox.

Le Joker reminds me of the mid-00's heyday of niche scents when incense perfumes were all the rage, so it's nostalgic (in a good way), though it doesn't fall into the iso e super trap that would have really dated it. Very well done - thumbs up!
