The company says:

Absinthe essence opens L’Heure Verte by KILIAN with an instant head twist into a nostalgic heart of violet leaf and licorice root absolute. Its dry-down articulates a unique and precisely chosen facet of patchouli that resonates throughout, and blends into a trio of earthy woods along with vetiver and sandalwood. A first-time collaboration between Founder Kilian Hennessy and French perfumer Mathieu Nardin, L’Heure Verte by KILIAN expresses Paris at its best—indulgent and life-changing in its luxuries and wonderful illusions.

As I understand it, L’Heure Verte translates to Happy Hour, traditionally when a drink of absinthe would be served. It’s spot on with the absinthe note. Minty, black licorice opening. There are green and mossy middle notes that hang on for quite a while.
The licorice/absinthe fades in the drydown, revealing a clean linen fougere/barbershop scent.

I did not like this at first due to the challenging opening. You must be a fan of absinthe/black licorice and the mossy green drydown that follows. However, it is interesting to smell, and fun to wear, and the drydown is very pleasant and somewhat addictive.

The opening has some decent projection but is just average after an hour. Excellent longevity, probably in the 10-hour range that you can still. get whiffs off the skin.
