Lilacs are my favorite flower, and it is SO hard to find a lilac perfume that is "true" to the lilac. In my opinion, Lilac Path comes the closest. It is a lovely perfume.

Ah, finally - a lilac perfume that doesn't smell like air freshener!

This is an extremely pretty, high quality blended white floral, with lilac dominating in the notes. Even more impressive, the lilac note isn't fleeting and lingers well into the drydown.

This is what Luca Turin would call a ‘bloodless' white floral. It's almost too angelic - when I wear it I can't help but feel that I should be wearing a wedding veil. That might make it a pass for me - but a beautiful creation nonetheless.

I am not a huge fan of lilacs--when they are in bloom, everyone swoons at their heady scent (my wife is one of them, I am not). That said, I really like this, which is my daughter's current favorite, largely because it doesn't really smell much like lilacs to me! All of the Aerin scents seem to me to be less about a soliflore offering and more of a mixed floral with a dominant note--in this case lilac. This doesn't set out to recreate the smell of Rochester in spring. It is a really pretty "lifestyle" fragrance that tips its hat to lilac, in this case, or gardenia, jasmine, etc. in the other fragrances. High quality, as pretty as the ads, and--although it is by Lauder--just niche enough to feel special.
