flowery opening...bright fresh and natural smelling...beautiful floral...great projection...giving off clouds off beautiful smell...reminds me of the 1st whiff when you walk into a flower shop...brings back memories from 40 or so years ago...would smell this kind of scent on my mom and her friends...i might be mistaken, but i think it may have some resemblance to the old Jean Nate...something slightly citrusy seems to be hiding in the flowers...projection for the 1st hour is awesome...get strong smell of jasmine...hate to say it , but in a way this is kind of an "old lady" fragrance...beautiful but boring...great quality though...nothing new or innovative...smelled this before, but this is just a little better due to the higher quality ingredients...

Years ago, I sprayed a ton of this on before bed and then had some sort of stroke or something. Of course, it wasn't caused by the perfume, but I distinctly remember waking up feeling really sick and stumbling into my bathroom, reeking of Love And Tears. I blacked out and woke up later on the bathroom floor, dazed and confused in a nuclear cloud of jasmine and tuberose. It turns out that I had liquid build-up in my lungs (don't worry - I'm fine now).

Anyway, I can't separate Love And Tears from the memories of that night, so any attempt at a cogent, fair review is kind of impossible for me. In terms of smell, it's basically jasmine and tuberose drying down to orange blossom, kind of like a classy, more natural Giorgio Beverly Hills or a crass, loud attempt at simulating La Chasse aux Papillons. This is one of those rare perfumes where smelling like expensive ingredients doesn't result in an expensive-smelling scent.

The main componenents of the opening blast on me are jasmine, petitgrain and bergamot. The jasmine is very nice, soft, and in its well-balanced sweetness it is intensive but unobtrusive and very wearable. The jasmine dominates the fresher petitgrain and bergamot, so that the two latter are clearly relegated to play the accompanying parts and never shine in their potential freshness, but in their sumissive role the pair blends in very well and are enhancing the interest in the jasmine, giving it more variety and colour. And add some freshness to the jasmine.

Soon the next floral player announces its presence: a nice ylang-ylang, that gradually vies with the jasmine for the dominant role. After the first four hours or so the ylang-ylang, with the petitgrain as joint comrade, are equal to the jasmine in strength and at times pushing the latter into the background.

The perfomance is very good with moderate sillage, excellent projection and an excellent nine hours of longevity on my skin. A perfect daytine scent for spring and cooler summer times, it is clearly neither very creative nor in any way adventurous, but it is well structured and, interstingly, this L&T beats Love. 3.5/5.

The essential jasmineness of Love and Tears cannot be denied or withstood – indeed, there seems to be little else in the mix, the other components placed far in the background. It's a living, fresh jasmine, successfully executed, but ultimately of interest only to fans of the little white flowers who may want to give the impression they're carrying a bush secreted about their person.

Meh... bleah.
Has a very promising start of lovely white florals. gets a bit soapy. Pretty and sweet. Though at times earthy and apricot-like. Quickly gets cloying and tiresome, even in micro-doses.
And there is nothing (and I mean NOTHING) remarkable or interesting here.

Love & Tears - Aptly NamedSo many things to say: We got a dabber! It's loud and proud! I can see this causing tears if applied too liberally to the wearer or by those in the vicinity. Lord knows the potential for a migraine sized headache is here. All that being said; in moderation I find this beautiful and charming. The jasmine is fresh and dewy and at the peak of their bloom. Orange blossom and lily of the valley faithfully support their leading lady and are detectable once you become used to the jasmine. It turns a touch green from the narcissus, galbunum and petitgrain about 45 minutes in. Then I get a stong licorice note that sticks around thanks to the lavender. And that's about where it stays on me. I'm not a huge licorice fan, but it balances out the jasmine quite nicely and gives it a clean quality. Not soapy, just kind of after a shower clean, a touch medicinal clean. Make no mistake; this is jasmine through and through, but I do not find it to be linear by any means. And I don't get any of the cedar or oak moss. Will I buy a bottle, no. Do I think it is a well done perfume, absolutely. It is well-blended, well-rounded, well-balanced. It's a big floral! And by big I mean HUGE!Pros: Cons: Huge floral with potential for a mega-sized headache"
