I remember reading about Machu Picchu from a library book when I was in third grade. It was always my intention to go there to see it… never made it. Machu Picchu opens with a lush green fragrance with a somewhat steamy and humid ambiance. Very soon it reveals itself as a fruity / floral – …tropical fruit and tropical flowers. It is a little over the top for me, which is my usual reaction to fragrances with tropical fruit accords – I'd always sooner eat them than wear them. I don't get a drydown except that the accords slowly ebb and wane to weaker levels. It's a simple fragrance… simple but strong… definitely the kind of fragrance that wears the person and it presents a decent sillage and an little less than average longevity. I just don't enjoy the accords very much.
