This reminds me mainly of Samba Skin Man, which used to be a cheapie legend and is closely related to Pure Havane and Naxos. It's not as heavy as those and neither is Maverick.

It has a nice, creamy, boozy vanilla with tonka and sandalwood. Not overly complicated or refined but still interesting to smell. It might feel a little mature to some as it's not super modern. Feels best for date nights because it leans on the sweet side.

Performance is pretty strong for me. Maverick really projects and fills a room. Longevity is great too, lasts all day and then some.

A beautiful mix of vanilla, tonka, woods melding with a lovely plum accord. The quality is outstanding and it really blooms on the skin showing hidden nuances. It reminds me of Armani Code Edp/Absolu.

The projection is average staying close to you but the longevity is really good. I got all day into the next morning where I could still smell the fragrance.

A bright, fresh oriental for any occasion, Maverick ticks all the right boxes. The opening hits with a blast of fresh citrus with a prominent combo of mandarin and slightly tart lemon that really awakens you and the fragrance. The scent proceeds quickly to the heart of vanilla and tonka, notes that provide a bit of sweetness but not too much. The vanilla persists well into the dry down, where it joins the patchoulis and sandalwood. This fragrance sounds simple on paper, and perhaps it is, but the way it is blended is magical. It's a fresh yet rich scent with just enough complexity. I place it a step above many other "safe" or "mass appealing" fragrances. This one has character thanks to the juxtaposition of the tart citruses, creamy vanilla, and light but notable woods. Though marketed as a nighttime scent, I could certainly see this as a great date night scent. It's not too playful, though, and is also easily worn at work. I wear it to the office a lot and my coworkers all love it as well. The projection is about arms-length I would say and the longevity is average (5-6 hours) before becoming a skin scent. It's great for the price and I am happy to see him branching out into things that suit a wider audience and provide an accessible stepping stone into the world of niche.
